It could of been none, stop whining.
I’d also like more stash tabs, and for runes/gems to stack
Three stash tabs would fix this:
A runes stash tab, similar to POE currency tab;
A Gems stash tab, the same;
A unique/set stash tab, that could house one of every unique/set in the game.
- Make these purchasable
- profit
I had to make new account just for hardcore play because of it. Its impossible to play both on one account with such char limit.
We need the same as POE, the option to buy unlimited amount of stash tabs for additional $$. in POE i have 30 stashtabs.
Okay so the game never had “infinite stash space”. It had infinite mules.
Those are two different things. Example, I was never able to open up my stash and make unlimited tabs. That would be unlimited stash space.
Now onto unlimited mules, which is what people are talking about, I guess ya’ll can get upset about it. It’s valid. But 99% of the people who pay for and are playing this game are not playing so hardcore that they need over 100 mules. In fact . . nobody needs that many mules, and if you think you do . . . you got a hoarding problem.
Hear hear, amen Klonopin.
“You don’t have a dollar bro, you just have a hundred pennies”
Fine. Give me back my hundred pennies (infinite mules) then.
And how does my having more stash space negatively effect their game play?
Right, I want the number to be higher than I need, this way I don’t need to worry about it. Also you do realise that the current limit doesn’t even allow you to create one of each class for each game type right? Forget about mules.
“Hoarding problem” lol, it’s not like the extra SOJs take up physical space in my house. I’m not burried alive under a heap of spare sigons and lum runes. Why is it a problem if I want to collect loot in a game that is about collecting loot? Imagine if COD put a frag limit on each account, and there you were to accuse anyone who had a problem with it of being a serial killer. Like bro, it’s the point of the game.
I understand how you feel, but there has to be a limit to what you can keep. We must have the stash size where it isn’t too huge that we can hoard to our hearts content. Nor so small that it couldn’t even take care of a single character’s needs.
Still it has to be the right size where we still have to make some hard choices about what we keep and what we toss. If it is huge then there are no hard choices we need to make. We wind up keeping everything and still needing more.
The Gems tab and Runes tab could both fit on the same tab. I have seen a fan made concept that had spots for all the Runes, Gems, Keys, Organs, and Repec token parts. Also PoE has a Unique item tab like you’re describing, it works great. I would sacrifice 2 of my 3 shared stash tabs for those two tabs. So I would have 1 personal tab, the Shared “Currency” tab, the Shared “Uniques” Tab, and 1 shared stash tab like we have now for transferring items.
Increasing the max character limit would also be a good idea since we can’t create unlimited free accounts now.
Yes, poe like stash tabs that fit (and stack) all the runes and gems etc.
Not the uniques tab though, that one sucks in poe too. Unless it is made to stack multiple copies of a unique. Stats on uniques matter after all.
I can imagine 2 or 3 rows of tab buttons for 20 or 30 total tabs above the inventory space. Each button as wide as an inventory cell.
I just made mules for everything, extra tab for each of those already. No realm down means its super easy to organize my stuff each night I MF:)
I think 3 shared stash tabs if more than fair. Blizzard never claimed you would not need mules. The shared stash tabs were not created to eliminate mules either. They were created so you can safely transfer items between characters.
You do not need to keep every item you find. Part of the reason you have always had limited storage space is because the original developers wanted you to have to choose what to keep and what to throw away.
20 characters is 2 1/2 old school accounts. It really should be plenty for most people, however, I do think 30 would be more reasonable.
No it shouldn’t have more “shared” pages. IF ANYTHING it would be better for more “character” pages. IMO it shoulda been 2 and 2 instead of 1 and 3.
That being said, the main ones that can be complaining are the ones going for the holy grail again. Otherwise, for the most part, stop hording so much junk. A lot of rares can be farmed up again.
Well yes, character pages are nice for muling. But playing hardcore, they are entirely useless for the character themselves. Feels a bit weird.
And hoarding junk, thats what these games are for. With 2 and 2 x 20 chars, space would be somewhat sufficient. I still would prefer a form of unlimited space without the need for muling. Meaning for example 29 shared pages with rune and gem stacking and 1 personal page, or better yet, unlimited shared pages with scroll arrows and changeable colours and logos on the tabs.
In OG D2, I have 14 accounts on one CD key. 2.5 “old school accounts” is nothing.
Why do I have so many accounts/mules? To begin with, I like to farm stuff and store it until someone needs it. I give away heaps and heaps of gear (but only to players who are polite, courteous, helpful, etc.). I recently gave an entire Tal’s set to a new sorc I met in a game.
I also like to collect stuff to make weird, offbeat, and unlikely builds. Beating the game with a tricked-out lightning sorc is fun and all, but beating it with a poison dagger necro is a real rush. Having lots of mules to store stuff = more opportunity to make weird builds.
I guess D2R doesn’t cater much to players like me, though. /sigh
or maybe someone wants to have all the items in the game on hand at any time
which isn’t possible due to the number of affixes. There are those that go after the Holy Grail (i.e. collect every unique and set)

That’s nice, but not necessary for the majority of players.

Just an FYI, 99% of the stuff you give away will be vendored by the person you give it to.

You can still do this. There is plenty of space to collect every set as well as all useful uniques.

Who knows, maybe they will increase the character limit with Ladder. However, 3 shared stash tabs is still more than fair, imo.
I do wish that it was possible to store Horadric Cubes in shared stash tabs so players could make a new character and have a cube from the start
