Hey, some of you might saw my previous grail topic. It basicly started as question if it would be possible to complete online grail in self-found format before season 3 starts. I started my grail there and posted information from my progress but eventualy stopped.
22 nights or terror made me play again but I decided to start ovher with my grail. One of main reasons was forum user Guitars who pointed out that i changed rules from what it originaly started to be only self found and i was getting help in public games. I must agree with him, that it wasnt proper challenge with that. I also wanted easy way for anyone to check my drops as i dont expect people will be watching hours of my gameplay so every video I post will have highlights in description under the video with stream. Basicly timestamps for every item I find towards grail or even some other nice loot or key moments.
I revisited the rules and they will be like this without further changes:
- I can pick up only items found directly by me from monsters only i killed or objects I clicked.
- starting with clean account
- no multiboxing
- not getting help from others, diablo clone, uber tristram, all item farming and quest progresion must be done by me
- no free items
- no trading
I can join public games, but playing in groups is only for XP. I cant pick up any items from shared kills. I can for example do split mf games but always be only solo. I cant join others for doing quests I didnt complete yet, so I can do baalruns if i killed baal solo on that character previously. But i cant take any loot in baalruns i played with others, even if everyone leaves before baal kill and i am there alone.
I already started and have 4 streams, I will share links later today with highlights to all i found, but here I have first report from grail challenge:
REPORT NUMBER 1
I decided to start with sorc. I made it to act 5 before ancients solo and then join few public games to level up solo in travincal while others were baalrunning. When i made it to 24/25 I went back solo and did ancients and only few baalruns and I then went NM right away.
Ice blast was strong enough to progress even at such low level on NM. When I made it to 30, I respeced to frozen orb build. Rest of NM was piece of cake and i had amazing drop at act 4 where i dropped Pul rune. I also found 4 socket poleaxe and crystal sword so i was able to make spirit and insight, low one but it was enough eventualy when my prayer merc leveled up.
Another nice find was Lem rune also in quest playthrough. I have to say that I really enjoyed that +100% life buff from christmas event. That helped a lot when I had low level with not enough life to survive well. Anyway , I eventualy finished NM and made some levels in public games, mostly leveling up solo in worldstone keep and doing some terror zone.
I progressed to hell and there I had to skip a lot of content with teleport. I avoided quest bugging Andariel, killed only one unique council for flail and managed to get to act 4. Chaos Sanctuary was challenging as I had only single element. Cold frozen orb. I tried lightning merc to kill cold immune seal boss, but that didnt work. I was also keeping some skill points, but it wasnt enough to deal with him with different element. In the end I managed to kill Lord de Seis with my insight polearm merc, it was very slow but possible with help of static field and telekinesis.
I teleported act 5 and faced another challenge. I knew I was screwed with single element as my merc was way too weak to deal with cold immune Korlic. The issue was that I really needed to farm sunder charms to get cold one and I could not do it without killing baal hell. I have saved like 13 skill points at that point so I invested it to Blaze skill, but my expectations were very low. Well it proved to be better than i thought,it took a lot of time but i managed to kill the Korlic with it

Baal waves were fine, only second wave took some time as my merc had to kill immune skeleton mages slowly one by one.
I was happy that I can finally farm Sunder charms but oh boy. Several hours of bad terror zones for cold sorc and I was only able to find Fire sunder charm. It was so bad as I wanted to be prepared for anything event will bring next days and being limited only to cold dmg vs immunes would not be good. But then it happened. Another Sunder charm and omg, it was perfect 70% cold sunder charm LMAO. Even my main account doesnt have perfect one.
I spend rest of playing time by doing more terror zones to get some levels and made 82. I found few items, most noticable 4 socket monarch, 17 mana 6 life small charm and unique Frost Wind Cryptic sword. And guess what, I made 35% FCR spirit in that monarch on first attempt. Btw I respeced for second time to frozen orb/Es which is my favourite build and i will stay that way for good i guess.
I finished the day by leveling barbarian for a while making it to arcane sanctuary as we had nice +50% dmg buff event.
Plan for today is probably level up barb a little bit and farm bosses and terror zones with sorc. I definitely need some equip as I mostly use magic +rare equip.
