Right…however Blizzard is responsible for addressing issues that make the game genuinely unplayable. This issue has existed since launch and is a critical one at that. They haven’t done a single thing to remedy this.
It is completely unacceptable to have an OFFLINE game that needs to be backed up daily.

In short there’s nothing blizzard can (or will) do and your main is gone forever.
Further, in my experience, this will happen consistently until they fix the game. That being said, they wont. Not once since launch has blizzard even acknowledged the issue let alone attempted to correct it.
I do enjoy blizzard’s (and Timberwolf’s) attempt to blame us for the faulty game. Show me another offline/single player game that needs to be backed up daily. If that was the case, maybe put that on the purchase page “Hey buy our game, oh and btw back it up daily or you’ll be starting from scratch on a weekly basis”
I’ve never suffered from file corruption, and I’ve had this game from launch (I play offline only). I’ve only ever had two CTDs with this game. It’s been stable otherwise, so I’m not sure what more they can do to “fix” the problem. This is the paradox of PC gaming: You have so many options on building your gaming PC, but that means that there are so many possible points of instability that is beyond the responsibility of any software company. So maybe it is the responsibility of those with crashing PCs to fix their machines before blaming the software companies.
