The Skeleton Key is a unique key (unique rarity) used for the sole purpose of opening randomly generated locked chests you find throughout your travels. However, the main difference is it has an infinite number of uses unlike the normal key that each time you open a locked chest, one key is deducted from your inventory. Thoughts?

Agreed. I posted this a while back about the same thing.
Didn’t get much backing, so I guess everyone likes carrying around keys, or there were more interesting threads rolling at the time. 
What was surprising is the number of people who didn’t know the Assassin can unlock chests without keys.

Telekinesis should also open chests without a key, imo.
