Then why are you freaking out on anyone who offers an alternate fix?
YOU are the one fussing about it. You started this derail by doing that.
You’re behaving like anyone else who offers advice to the OP is some kind of threat to you.
Please reread the above post I made.
Random thought… but wouldn’t capping frame rate at 72 with vsync help for people with 144hz refresh monitors that aren’t getting a solid 144 fps?
Personally I’ll be using a good’ol 1080p 60hz monitor as long as they make’em just because it’s less issues to deal with, but that’s just me.
Please grow up.
It probably would at a lower res but told him 60 to keep the work down on his unit. If he is going to do 4k though which he is at the moment it’s too much.
Still got to wait for him to message back if he needs anything else however.
Hehe as a man with 20/400 vision I can’t even tell the diff between 1080p and 4k ![]()
Are you a real life hawk eye
lol. On bad quality 1080 can look the same as 720 better quality. Same goes for higher res but yes 1080p with high quality is pretty good from viewing distance
Or worse, that the person reading can’t swap back to his solution if he doesn’t like the other answers. As if they’d be too stupid to figure it out.
If you can handle a solid 72 fps at 144hz refresh rate, then you might as well just uncap it. You could still do that though, especially if you dislike fan noise, or want to keep the room cooler.
The main selling point of 144hz and higher refresh rates is that you can go from 80 fps in one scene, to 40 in another and the screen tearing may not even be noticeable. Especially when the new cutting AAA game you purchased is poorly optimized on release, and the drivers for your GPU haven’t caught up just yet. They can have some pretty sharp dips in frames.
The only game I’ve seen reliably push well over 200 frames on a mid tier rig with medium/high settings was Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. Those guys at Id know how to use their engine. I believe they claimed id tech 7 engine can hit a frame rate output of 1,000 fps in Doom Eternal.
20/400(that’s in my good eye) means my vision is terrible.
At 20 feet I see as well as most people do at 400 feet. I can’t even see the E on the eyechart without my glasses. Hell I can’t even see the eye chart unless I squint. ![]()

20/400 vision in a nutshell.
Particularly annoying when you lose your glasses, cause you don’t really see well enough to find them without feeling around like an idiot.
Oh I don’t know how those numbers work I just go by negatives. -5ish here both eyes
