MF system and player base is dead empty

Seems like I hurt your feelings, snowflake. Didn’t you get your lollipop? 6 months and you are still stomping and screaming like a toddler.

I prefer Bowazon for cows, honestly, I don’t even have great gear like Faith or Fortitude or anything and it still goes quick, most importantly it’s more fun seeing all those multishot arrows flying, less resource management as well (arrows are plentiful, even more so next patch), I never enjoyed javazon much for cows (despite its obvious power) because it always felt like you couldn’t attack as fast or use as many javelins as you would like because of the quantity issue (also somewhat alleviated next patch). Then again I think I prefer Necro for Cows the most. But Bowazon, she is classically basically just as good at cows as anyone, and just plain fun (imo)

Prolly cuz of 90%ers and their fetish for cult of personality, and because other toxic purists like you (zax) worship him like its their idol.

Good job destroying one of the best games ever. You purists must be so proud. But hey your idol mr llama said no changes since you have no soul and can only repeat what others tells you I guess its not your fault.

I actually started posting recently ( a few days ago), so you soulless lemming purists have had 6 months to troll and rage and scream like the little man babies you are. Well not little considering youre amerifats but you know what I mean.

Lol…maybe take a look in the mirror, HappyFeet

I legitimately insulted Llama in a post a few days ago. Stop trying to deflect. Your opinion on the game is laughable. You claim the game is already destroyed so why are you posting here? Just dumb. Go dance your little feet to lost ark/Diablo 3 or some other easy mode instant gratification “grinding” game.

And more toddler behaviour. Whose alt are you and how did I crush your heart?

Your logic is flawed and your accusations are plainly wrong.

How can we destroy a game we didn’t change? And who cares about a streamer?

Dry your tears little puppy and stop trolling

You supposed to go into pub games and play poorly on purpose while targeting some guy who is kind of bad and make him think he is winning. Then get real raged and tell him you could beat him in a 1v1 and you’d bet on it. Take him into a private game and then play for real and clap him as hard as possible while screen recording the bet. Then if he doesn’t pay up, threaten to post the video so everyone knows he’s a welcher.

~ This is how you get rich in D2 by sharking pvp games. It actually works if you do it through d2jsp where people care about their reputation.

I take everything back. You trolls that didn’t explain your bold claims were right. I found a ber rune from trav and gave up on mf permanently. Then, two hours on my 200%mf hammerdin after buying my first enigma, I find arachs and shaco from meph, the two items that i never found on my 800%mf sorc with tons of kills on meph. I’m still keeping my mf sorc in case blizzard decides to fix mf.

Now i’m going to be the entitled d2 player that tells the unfortunate high mf players that worked harder than me and found nothing that the game is working as intended xD. key+trav+token farming, rune trading without cubing for rune upgrades, and gem trading are the fastest ways for me to get a ber in 1-2 weeks without using any forums ONLINE (i bet some of you trolls only play single player on +8, cheaters). gl

Now I’m debating whether to play bone necro or light sorc next for fastest key farming. Light sorc is best for the first two keys, but the last key I may either go bone necro or singer/zerk/ww hork barb. Still trying to find the fastest trav build. Cow rune+base farming is a maybe for me if I can get stacked on my jav/bowazon.

You’re welcome…I guess?

Quit the game if you dont want to play it anymore, you doesn’t have to make a threat like everybody else who doesn’t like how Diablo II actually is.

Just quit, you don’t have to say it to everyone else in here.

800MF is WAAAAAY too much MF, you are almost 100% certainly sacrificing a ton of other stats in order to have that much MF, in which case of course you’re not finding anything, cuz you’re doing runs way too slowly. Ontop of that, anything above 300mf has considerable diminishing returns already, and past 500 you’re getting such little gains from the extra MF that it’s really really not worth it. Just because you don’t understand how MF works doesn’t mean it’s broken, it is explicitly done in the way it is to DISCOURAGE you from having 800MF because that’s ludicrous, far, far too much, and playing a really dumb, boring, and bad way.

I said even with more boss kills on my sorc that I was still finding nothing compared to my low mf hammerdin that barely played. basically, mf means nothing regardless of kill speed. it’s all rng. no one on this thread has explained how mf works so stop using this troll response please, unless you do want to explain it then please do other than referring to a graph without the actual data. anyone can draw a line.

Here is some light reading for you.

You clearly don’t know how mf in this game actually works. I suggest you check out the link pasted from the above poster to get the basics right. In short, mf is not bugged and green/blue drops do not cancel out unique ones. The quality of the item that drops is rolled in this order: unique>rare>magic>normal. Because of that order all the talk about “too much green/blue drops” makes no sense. Rune drops are entirely unaffected by mf, be it negatively or positively. But they are obviously affected by clear speed, as more monsters means more chance of getting runes. So as general rule of thumb, always stack as much mf as you can so long as you are not sacrificing clear speed. Depending on class and zone you run that number will usually be between 200-400, but for single boss runs it can and should go a lot higher.

Regardless, doing meph runs on a 200 mf Hammerdin sounds like a complete waste of time, not only due to the low mf compared to ease of content but also due to the far worse cast frames resulting in considerably slower clear speed. You getting lucky with 2 drops doesn’t mean anything really.

The basic rundown of how MF works in Diablo 2 is something like:

  1. MF does NOT affect WHAT items are actually dropped by monsters, bosses, chests, etc. If the thing in question was going to drop, say, a Crystal Blade, it will always drop a Crystal Blade. MF will not change it into a different base item type.

  2. MF takes WHAT items WERE dropped, and then rolls to reroll a normal item into a Magic item. Then, it has a separate (MF affected) chance to take that item if it was rerolled into a magic item to reroll it into a Rare, and then from a Rare into either a Set or Unique. Not sure of the exact specifics, but its something like that.

  3. The way that MF is factored into this goes on some kind of curve. The increased odds you get starts low with low MF, scales up really fast as you approach 300ish MF, then the scaling goes much slower as you go beyond 300 MF. (not sure if 300 is the exact number, but its somewhere around there)

  4. MF does NOT make more items drop.

  5. MF does NOT affect drop rates of gems or runes.

  6. At no point is Uniques/Sets or Rares guaranteed over Magic or normal items. Even with 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 5,000, 10,000 MF.

  7. MF does NOT make an item increase in quality (as in, changing a Damaged item into a Normal, or Normal into Superior, etc); however, it may still affect item quality in other ways, I’m not completely sure but I think if an item is rolled into a Unique it will always be Normal quality (again not 100% sure on that tho)

  8. MF does NOT upgrade the item itself (IE Crystal Blades will not be changed into Dimensional or Phase Blade). This goes intandem with the fact that some uniques CANNOT be generated off of an item unless they are of specifically Elite or specifically Exceptional quality. (For example, again using Crystal Blades, you will NEVER get Azurwarth if you NEVER get a Phase Blade to drop naturally, you will NOT get Ginther’s Rift if it isnt a Dimensional Blade)

  9. Your Merc’s MF is not applied for the calculation if you make the kill, however it is added onto your MF if they get the kill. However, any followers that get the kill do still use your MF (Skeletons, Wolves, Amazon clone, etc)

  10. Along with the thing Mitsufunk posted, I’m pretty sure MF does not affect the “pick” process either, so even with a lot of MF the chance to getting “NoDrop” is still the same and no other item types are more likely to be picked over others based on MF (however, this does naturally vary from monster to monster, chest to chest, etc).

  11. Difficulty and the number of players however does affect the pick process iirc, number of players iirc also does provide a bonus to MF.

Good post with points just this one thing is wrong. Number of players decrease no drop chance. It has no effect on MF. Only MF of person who made final killing blow matters.

I think the item quality is the other way. Game first roll if item will be uniq then it Rolls which unique like tyraels might vs templars might. If that fails game Rolls if item will be set, then rare and magic last.

Its same for runes, it starts at highest possible.
