Loving Resurrected, what are some features that could make it even better

Might be a little wishful thinking but as much as i love keeping it as a remastered classic i would love to see a added mode to give us options for a d2 remaster/remake version like resident evil 2, a full revamp but still with in its core structure, either way very pleased if this game continues to receive love and support, its my new favourite diablo game rn

“what are some features that could make it even better?”

IQ test before forum access.
(not referring to you but all the haters constantly tearing down every aspect of the game)

The game has already been “revamped” with the updated graphics.

While I wouldn’t be opposed to a future paid expansion for D2:R which could bring accommodations for the more extreme additions/changes people have been asking for, I think the majority of the “new” should be saved for Diablo 4.

I think there are a lot of players that dont want to play d4 and would rather see d2r evolve.

Evolution of the game is fine, but I think many on both sides of the “change fence” would agree that an expansion is the best route to take, that way those who want the changes can pay a small one time fee for them, while those who don’t want the changes can stand pat and continue playing D2:R as it is.

Agreed. That would be ideal, however blizzard would need to make a big decision up front to invest resources for an expansion and we simply don’t have the numbers they have access to to to make that decision.

Bah, they could crank out an expansion with the resources they’ve already generated for the game. Sure there will be a bit more work for any new storyline/code/features/models/ui for a new act, but the investment would be nowhere near what they put into remastering the game. They could probably charge another $20 for the expansion, and people would pay it.

I am one of that people, but they need to contact the original designers, they were geniuses.

some one pay ou for that ? that last patch was destroy alot of bulids

Genius is a bit much, after all they lost assets before launch and some of what we got was a scramble, and other ideas if implemented or not scrapped would have made the game meh.

The trick now is the company is profit motivated and aimed. Is this a good idea or is it a good money maker with an idea as a veneer.

I don’t think they can make a great game anymore, successful monetarily or based on gambling mechanics sure but a game that sells based on it being a great game, I dunno. I don’t think the environment caters to something different anymore. Even if it is different they would shove a generic mtx store onto it.

Bah it turned into a rant, but like you I wish for a crew that put games first and made money based on them being good, not any of this games as a service junk.

David Brevik already agreed that some things like stamina bar should have been removed.

Perhaps Blizzard can start small and ad more content to act 4. Its missing 3 sidequests. Maybe ad a 5th merc, a fallen angel?

No one paid me lol. Thank you for joining the convo, some great thoughts, I know d4 is coming for sure, but it is going to be very different.I guess i know it has been remastered and that it great, but for fans of the original how far is too far with changes, so i agree a paid dlc or whatever route blizz want to go, but i think we could potentially have legacy, resurrected and a new mode that perhaps brings in elements that are good from d3,artwork for the skills and spells, new gear, more living environments things like this, just a thought because as excited for d4 as i am, it may not be the arpg for me,similar to how capcom remade the resident evil games but yet still have the new ones, anyways good to see like minded folks and i actually like the stamina bar makes it more souls like which is cool to me, lets hope d4 is awesome but i still love classic games so i support d2r being more of what d3 should have been imo

David Brevik advocated for a lot of things to be changed if he were making Diablo today. What he did not say, is that he would drastically alter, or fundamentally change a D2 remaster. I know you’re not saying this yourself, but some people love to take Brevik out of context to add illegitimate weight to their points. It’s extremely annoying.

that is fair and i mostly agree, i guess i am saying they could add some extra polish in the likes of the newer resident evil 2 / 3 remakes not so much “new” content but more like a mode that enables like some newer more d3 the “good” parts polish to the game, its a very very good remaster but some areas good be polished a little more imo, but also i am hoping d4 will be awesome just not sure rn if it will be the game for me, time will tell i am still excited to see tho

Good idea, but with this Dev team I will actually wait till it’s finished before buying.
Hope that if they make one they will leave servers open for those who like to stick with the old version, bonus points if they remove Grief, Infinity and Enigma or even have a 1.09 server.

Good idea, maybe this means they can move their crap ideas there and let us have version of Diablo that was atleast mainly designed by competent devs.

Not trying to hate here, but I feel that with every new addition the game gets a little worse overall, not because the ideas are bad, just the execution.

The only thing “D3” I can think of that I’d like to see come to D2:R is when monsters drop items over an impassible area, then it moves the drops to an area where we can pick them up instead of them just disappearing.

Example: Ghosts in Arcane Sanctuary

more events like the current magic boost weekend we had. Cuz lets be honest, everyone who wanted this remaster for the most part has bought it already.

Yeah more will buy over time but the biggest sales have already happened. Draw more people to the game with new things happening. Also gets more people playing the game and coming back to it. Especially ones who bought it at launch outta hype but have already put it down.

I’m kinda one of those people. I love D2 but I’m definitely not a hardcore D2 player but when I heard there was a magic find bonus weekend it got me playing again.

Yeh overall it doesnt need drastic changes, small polish things is what i am mostly thinking for example the ui for health bars on monsters when using a controller i would like an option to remove them from the heads of enemies and put it up top center screen things of this nature could be nice for future polish and support, i like the stamina bar tbh, i wouldn’t take anything out of the game just polishing whats already there a little more in some areas of ui , sound effects, fixing ai bugs etc could be nice

I hate to be the negative nancy, but Blizzard will drag their feet on this until PoE 2 puts the final nail in the coffin.

They won’t move fast enough to generate hype.

I’ve said it many times, magic find should work in a party and stack. The killing blow being the deciding factor is unnecessarily limiting.

Adding in more farming routes would be nice. Maybe having all super unique enemies have the rune drop special similar to the Countess. I’d like to see more people go hunting for the Smith in the Barracks, for example. Farming the Countess is still the more reliable way to find and upgrade runes. The biggest limiting factor being access to gems.

Some quests should be repeatable - like Charsi imbue and Larzuk socketing. Most players, including myself, have made throw away characters just to get rushed to completing those two quests.

Akara respec shouldn’t be limited use, and just get rid of the essences from the bosses. Perhaps give those rare items better use, like maybe crafting high runes.

Let us “close” the cow level portal and open a new one in the same game. In fact, just add a mapping system.
