I had the pieces and then logged out before assembling and then logged into a server where they had already completed that quest and it destroyed my items automatically and now it says my quest is complete but I do not have the staff to use in the last quest in the tomb to get to Duriel

same with me, i cant finish act 2, the staff disappeared from my stash, and now it wont drop a new amulet or staff for me.

They never dropped for me but the quest completed so now I am stuck in act 2 hell as well

Same I was with a friend who had the staff and now I’m stuck. Even redid the dungeon with the staff and it didn’t drop.

In the original client, in situations like the ones some of you described, the hole in the Tomb leading to Duriel should still be open for you go through. Have any of you actually tried going there to check, or just assuming you are stuck?
Same here, Put staff in 2nd weapon slot, when I got to tomb it was missing. Cant complete act 2. HELP PLEASE!!

me too, im stuck. I finished Duriel, then it say connection error, when I try to redo Duriel, I dont have the staff anymore. I tried to redo maggots lair, but doesnt drop the staff.
There is a work around. Just have someone else build staff after you complete both quests and have them open the duriel tomb. Kill duriel and move to act 3.

Same here! I used the staff, then lost connection, now I’m can’t redrop or finish the act2. HELP

What’s weirder is that after I died in Duriel’s lair, I spawned back without any of my gear. I logged off and logged back on, and all my gear was on the ground at my feet.
I went to the maggot lair thinking I could get the cube again or whatever, the amulet or whatnot. When I got there it was the same deal. Purple chest. No horodric piece. This sucks cus I can’t finish the quest and move on, all the while my character keeps leveling in act 2!!! HELLPPPP
Yes. Tried going through the whole quest process again (not only going there but going to maggot land as well). No dice

Same here. I am also stuck. Played with a friend in a party and the horadric staff quests are completed but I don’t have a staff any longer and therefore cannot get to Duriels lair. Staff and Viper Amulet won’t drop again.

I was playing solo and ported back right after using it and when i got back through the portal the staff was gone and the tomb closed and now I´m stuck. Pls Help me
In the cases where you “opened” the wall or after, you SHOULD just be able to go find the tomb and the wall should ALREADY be broken (since that flag in the quest is complete). Those cases the pieces wont drop again is intended as the wall is open already.

THIS METHOD WORKS. IT APPEARS SMASHED, BUT JUST WALK UP TO THE BROKEN WALL BEHIND THE STAFF SLOT. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Same here. Put the staff in the box to mix and the game crashed. I can get back there but the staff is gone and the shrine it won’t open. beyond frustrated!
One of my chars is stuck here. Went through maggot lair twice but no staff drop.
Similar thing happened to me. Joined a group of friends. I got the quest items but i haven’t “completed” the quest. So i still have the quest and i can’t progress even though I have the staff and the cube. Might just roll a new toon and toss my gear in the shared loot chest. Kinda shi-ttay I have to do that though.
