Any plans about wide screen and glide support for classic mode!?

Game would be perfect if I could use CNC ddraw shaders in Classic mode.

Would be great if I didn’t have to turn on Classic mode every single game I join.

There are adorable. How can you not like such character that is coveted with gear and so far away to tell details.

It would be nice if we didn’t also contract Rabies simply by playing certain “Heroes” though…

Getting a 100% fatal disease from a game? Wow! Just remember to vaccinate your Druid wolves. If you get bitten, seek medical attention from Akara immediately!

It’s a joke, and I like your joke as well, but okay, look at the Amazon’s face in the selection screen and tell me that’s “inspiring”. It’s not. That’s why this thread gets reposted constantly, repeatedly, in multiple different languages. If it was fine, no one would even mention it.

Of course it’s not okay! Look at it! It doesn’t take a genius to know this isn’t the face of “heroic world saver”, no one wants to pretend or imagine they look like that while saving the planet. Hello? It’s BASIC!

And btw, that’s why there were threads with HUNDREDS OF POSTS when people first saw this was going to be the Amazon. WHICH YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW ABOUT! There were Community fans posting artwork as possible replacements for it! And it was so pushed by fans that Blizzard eventually acknowledged that it would be addressed and it was changed in the Blizzard Class Trailer for the Amazon for D2Res!

Where did that model suddenly go? I thought they were going to do something about it? But here we are.

Yes, I know. The hundreds of posts, out of millions of players. Most made by the same people who posted over and over and made thread after thread. Then they liked each other’s posts. Mostly the same small group. Some oddly, used accounts without D2R to “like” or vote - because you don’t need a license to do that so it lets people inflate likes or reports. They were zero post accounts that only liked topics on those threads, by the same posters. Oddly enough most of those accounts were from the same world Region. I am curious what the actual “unique” license holder input counts were. I can’t see the back end data to look that up. Blizz can though.

No, they did not say they would change it. They said they heard the feedback and would consider it.

After considering it, they did not change it. They instead released a statement doubling down on the battle scared realistic chars vs “nightclub” chars.

This level of flippancy is just disgusting. It wasn’t a hate thread, it was supportive criticism, people literally posted their artwork, not in mockery but seriously. They wanted a better version of the Amazon. It wasn’t “just a few of the same people”, that is a blatant lie, it was SO many different Diablo 2 fans, yes, clearly some were very critical, others thought it was fine and again, like I said, many posted their own artwork for critique by the community, people don’t post their own artwork just to make a mockery of something, they were genuinely trying to improve on the character model (because it was bad). This is a gross simplification of those threads!

THE AMAZON CLASS TRAILER WAS ONLY POSTED 3 WEEKS AGO!? They “changed it” since then? Or is it just false advertising?

What??? And if they doubled down? So what? You think that makes it reasonable? …

I just want young and strong heroes from original D2. Heores who are strong enough to beat armies from Hell.

Why they forcing me to play as a random old and weak ppl from a random towns streets!?
WTF is wrong with that company!?

VV have stated themselves why the character models look the way they do. A lot of it is because of the current situation Blizzard find themselves in. That and the devs wanted the characters to be realistic.

Dunno about you but I’m here to slay demons, not for a parade.

The idea they wanted ‘battle scarred realistic characters’ is just them taking creative license with their re-work. I guess they are allowed to do that but if they did that in other places they would have tanked the game.

The lore did not support the ‘battle scarred’ characters, no game ever does. You can’t support a statement of a veteran char when you start at lvl 1 with no skills. The lore, as others have pointed out before, shows that some D3 sorc is the D2 sorc, yet she is now older in D2 than she is in D3. Apparently the Demon Hunter was also the Assassin from D2, apparently she saw Michael Jackson’s plastic surgeon…

“Realistic” is also a poor statement as an old fighter is not ‘realistic.’ They should have put them late 20’s not mid 40’s to 60’s if they want realistic and potentially ‘veterans.’ This is the age when you still have the endurance, skill and ability to keep going and you haven’t really moved into a training roll. The D3-4 Barbarian makes me cringe because I know people that age who still do martial arts and I know their limitations, sparring takes time to recover, they can’t do a 2-4 hour tournament without taking a month off. The body is not set for that kind of work at that age.

I understand if they want to make them more discrete but that comes to covering them up like they did with the Assassin, they don’t need to age them as well.

To me the whole argument about ‘realistic’ or ‘veterans’ doesn’t hold up. Basically they took creative license because they were told to be more inclusive and less sexual. They could have done this without making them old, this is the main argument people who can keep it in their pants have.

Woke people hate attractive people. For some reason this new generation likes to pretend that looking at attractive people isn’t more pleasant than looking at ugly people.

They know it’s fake. We know it’s fake. And they know we know it’s fake. But they wont stop pretending. Not much you can do until they either gain some wisdom or self-esteem.

That was VV’s background argument. The main reason was because of the current scandal still going on.

Just for hypothetical sake, say that Blizzard had VV keep the current characters the way they were from the original, as a result of that, their would have been backfire from certain sides that see Blizzard to be taking a backwards stance with that implication that are for said changes. Other Blizzard games like WOW, for instance, has seen similar changes lately. It’s not just Diablo II but other Blizz properties as well.

What? That is a pretty strange take.

  • Most people: Women and men should be free to look the way they want so long as it does not harm others. Celebrate that, enjoy that. If they want to be full on sexy WOOT. If they want to wear a burlap sack because it makes them happy, great. Happy to look at most people, especially happy confident people.

  • Some others: You will look the way I want you to look in order to please my tastes.

If you don’t realize the young generations are super into beauty, makeup, fitness, etc - check the sales metrics for the industry, Insta, TickToc, etc. They are refreshing though, they find beauty in a lot of different things and types of people, and encourage each other to feel good about themselves. Quite the opposite of “hating” beautiful people.

Mostly this. VV has done the work and started it over 2 years ago, well before the lawsuits. VV was then under Activision and they are located in Upstate NY. Far from the office and culture of either Activision or Blizzard.

They were making chars they felt fit the very realistic environment they were making. While the lawsuit coming out this summer AFTER the chars were made is easy to point to, that did not cause VV to start making these chars 2 years ago when all this was put together.

Really - they made what they felt fit.

Why Glide? Do you have a Voodoo 2 card you were hoping to use?

This generation has the most self-esteem issues from any generation by far. That’s why those industries you mentioned are “up”. The youth has been conditioned to compare themselves daily to “influencers” who’s whole persona is fake and fraudulent but the young impressionable minds gobble it up.

Your mistake is thinking I’m referring to easily changeable things like your outfit or makeup (which is a whole other topic). Facial symmetry, clear skin, healthy body weight, characteristics pertinent to the specific gender, feminine qualities on females and masculine qualities on males. I’m not talking about clothing. I’m talking about genetic qualities that we are programmed to desire because of the indication of health and balance. Programmed by nature for…ever.
