Lets do battlepass

I’ll pay with pleasure a 10 bucks battle pass to have access to the new ladder season, with this money you will be able to do massive updates like the act 6 everyone is waiting for
I wont play diablo 4, not my type (looks too much like d3/poe to me), and I’m scared about the diablo 2 death, battle pass for ladder maybe a good solution

The only thing that would happen is that they ruin the game by regurlarly added botch and parasite mechanics like in other battlepass games. And not everyone is waiting for an act 6, because chances are high that blizzard will screw it. D2 is Blizzard North, not Blizzard, and those ppl are long gone.

I’ll double on Quarterpound’s sentiment.

  1. While some players like PoE for its perpetual content, I myself don’t like how it becomes more convoluted and needlessly complex with each league, and how I have to redo all my builds every season or two.
  2. There’s zero chance that an act VI is going to be an improvement to the game. I know that many believe that extra content is always good, but that’s not always the case. Here, story-wise, we already have a complete narrative, with no leeway for extra arcs. An act VI is at best going to feel convoluted, and at worse going to severely cheapen the whole experience. And balance-wise, the addition of an extra-arc requires strongly reworking difficulty and level of content for the whole game from nightmare onward. If you feel the need for extra content, act VI is definitely not what I would push for, I’d expect much better design space for Act IV quests (or even get Act I-V up to 8-10 quests each, supposing you find interesting rewards that don’t break balance) and extra classes.

The ironic thing is when the old Blizzard North President and original D2 game director suggests changes, then he is an evil know nothing…

Unless he suggested Battlepasses this got nothing to do with the topic at all

Act 6 will never happened, they already have Diablo Immortal to fill the gap between D2 and D3, stop being an idiot and expect act 6 please.

and No, I do not buy d2 just to pay more money for “battlepass” If you want battle pass, go play d4, if you want act 6, go play diablo Immortal. Leave D2R to us the hardcore d2 lovers.

Agree. Why some d2 purists always need to find an excuse to launch a crusade at d4 I wonder

Because it’s fun to mentally prepare oneself for the absurdity that is most certainly coming, just like when Micro almost manages a Brevik said he wants ploot before being shutdown by the next post.

Otherwise you’ll just go crazy with this nonsense.

Blizzard will not see one more penny from me, but besides that I don’t want this Dev team to create an act 6, they’re incapable of making changes without forseeing the consequences of those changes, they’ve ruined more than they fixed, these are not the kind of people you want making a new act.

Here’s a likely way they would go about creating the new storyline.

First Dev: So after Galadriel throws her…I mean THEIR…Axe into the Soulmountain…
Janitor: Polite cough, erhm sir it was Tyrael, a Sword and the Worldstone.
First Dev: erhm yeah sure, so Tirayell throws his…I mean their…this is hard…Sword into mount doom a big explosion leave the land bare.
Second Dev: yeah and then from ashes comes forth a new heroe, the 8 class, a hobbit…
Third Dev: Isn’t that more Lord of the Rings?
Janitor: Correct and Hobbit would be a race not a class.
First Dev: still a solid idea I think, do we need a garage and cars for that race?
Second Dev: I think so, but maybe we could use dragon mounts instead of cars.
Third Dev: Is this where we can finally add Alexstrasza to the NPC’s?
Janitor slaps his hand to his forehead and walks out of the room, he tried, but they never really listen to people who actually play the game.

No I don’t want them to do act 6.

The delicious irony when twitter and youtube videos exist to show what was actually tweeted and said. You know that and were already provided the links.

For every penny blizzard loses from d2 purists, they will get 5-6 more pennies from new players. That’s an absolutely great trade deal there.

Finnish Act 4 first.

Oh playing the purist card again, still no clue what a purist is I presume?
Because I am not.
Maybe read why I don’t want changes, it’s not that I am against change, I am against changes made by people that make more bad than good ones.
There’s a different between don’t wanting any change at all and simply don’t wanting them to make changes.

dam i don;t want to pay 10 bucks and get banned for running same place too much~~

Yeah no thanks.

I’d rather see the game completely die out in terms of updates, than see it become littered with FOMO systems

Diablo 2 is one of those games that don’t need new content and updates constantly to stay relevant. It’s already an excellent game that has stood the test of time.

It’s already frustrating enough that this stuff made it into D4, but expected since most games nowadays do it. But there’s no reason to ruin a 20 year old game.

It would do the triple A industry some real good to have some of the biggest new live service releases flop financially, something to set a new precedent.

diablo 2 does not need a battle pass or some new lame content. look at d3, look at d4, do we want that cancer seeping into diablo 2 even more than it is? at this point imo. diablo 2 should be checked by a doctor because there’s something wrong…
