Least played class

What is everyone’s hot take on least played class in D2R?

I am guessing it’s druid. Sad, that’s how it was in classic WoW too.

i bet druid got plenty of new users because of the improved summon builds. i’m guessing amazon as the least played class.

According to diablo2.io, both druid and assassin are the least played classes. There are few votes compared to the large mass of players (6445), but you can get an idea.

Druid has 428 votes
Assassin has 429 votes

Sorceress has 2212 votes

that thing is a year old though. surely some players changed classes since patch 2.4

I always found the assassin as a bit of a lost character, seemed off, but that was me. I’ve certainly played it the least personally with druid second last.

I’m playing a druid at the moment. It really is a lot of fun. He’s not as fast as the other classes, but I don’t see that as a demerit. If it wasn’t for patch 2.4, the votes for druid would probably be at 100

I never gave the druid a real chance but I will say in my limited time playing one I feel their minions like poison creeper either need to be much stronger at times and others meatbaggier. I liked pets but sometimes keeping them from killing themselves seemed to be half the battle.

Assassin is definitely least played class. Used to be Druid but not with 2.4

I’ve also liked assassins as my starter class on a ladder but stop playing almost entirely once I find enough gear to get a sorc going. But I just cannot get myself to make a druid.

I find the charges system to be unnecassarily fiddley when most other classes have far better results by just spamming one skill without thinking; and in general claws and martial arts skills just suck

For what’s supposed to be assassinating things, the damage just isn’t there

I would guess druid. Assa is actually a solid early ladder nihlatak runner.

My biggest problem with assa is that lightning is a much worse lightning sorc and the fire is a worse fire sorc or even worse than fire druid.

Kicksin is just a worse zealer…

Before the assa has put down her traps the light sorc has already cleared and moved on. (If you have infinity, otherwise assa is better due to fire blast killing light immunes). Though… nobody would ditch cold for lightning pre infinity (except me tho, i have an arcane sanctuary runner for when i am bored.

For me it’s probably Amazon. Not feeling that Greek style too much and waiting for bow builds buff… I wasn’t fan of Demon Hunter in D3 as well for some reason. Some of skill effects hardly looked like arrows and those weird animations… bows having a recoil wtf? D4 Rogue as archer class finally looks great for me.

As of other players when I think about it I see very little of Assassin in D2 so I place my bet on it being least played class.

If I had to guess from most to least played class it would be:
Sorceress → Paladin → Barbarian → Necromancer → Amazon → Druid → Assassin.

My most to least would probably be Necro 》 Sorc 》Pally 》 Amazon 》Barb 》Druid 》Assassin

Yet, sorc players will continue to state that she needs HUGE buffs.

Barb is the best for travs runner with find items and berserk, if it wasn’t for that im pretty sure it would be last xD

As for OP i would go for assasin as last… Everything just seem off with her, Traps aren’t fun to play… Martial is just really bad and squishy.

Odd that its the 2 LOD toons that are played the least huh? Def the Druid and Sinn for me personally.
