Least played class

Trapsin feels like a boring Sorc, and I want to try a martial artist sin, but I just can’t work up the nerve to single target so much.

Any suggestions?

100% assassin and druid.

Well the Druid summons seriously needs more, they attempted to improve it, but still failed.
Fire Druid? Meh
Wind was decent, but is only effective in a group play.

I dont play the Sin enough, when I build one, its usually a trapper, so I cant comment too much on the physical.
Needs more, speed, splash damage, zealot from sc type attacks, just needs more

Dont bother any attack character even with 95% chance to hit will still miss 10/10 times. Never play anything that doesnt have 100% hit chance (mages) if you want to have any fun. Also ya like how ranged characters have all the aoe while melee have basically none and the few they do are crap. Least played class would be barb for sure. It might not be considered least played but thats just because everyone forgets they exist when these polls happen.

paladin. because everyone else plays it, i can’t even bother

wait, you guys are able to get gear for a char other than sorc in a ladder season?

I have a full pally with 3 backups, necro setup with meh backups. Sorc was strictly to get the rest going but geared okayishly.

Haven’t played much in the last month and a bit though.

yeah i play about 10 hrs a week and finally got my cold sorc geared… we are 2 months into laddder?

will try to find some gear for the javazon i never am able to fully gear

cycle repeats

Granted I did crunch more hours in there for sure

I used my sorc to gear my necro, my necro went bone and could clear most areas without issues and used him to gear pally, but then used and lost many a paladin and use them for more targeted hunting.

working 48 hr weeks, most days i don’t have the energy to grind d2

oh to be 15 again

Yuuup, I took time off and cruuunched some gameplay to get started, once the foundation is there, I can do some quick runs when I have less time.

Only now playing too long gives me gaming hangovers compared to younger heh.

My understanding is assassin is popular in PVP. Druid was entirely useless until 2.4 & now is only mostly useless.

Personally I’d say assassin, but it’s kinda anecdotal without official numbers from Blizzard.

The closest to that we can get, is what characters are in the ladder board, but that’s represent more which classes are the easiest to get to 99, not the most played.

For example I’m sure that many people with a lv 99 have a lv 90 sorceres.

For me

  1. Assassin
  2. Druid
  3. Necromancer

More like it represents who’s got community to clear maps for them.

I got eth titan’s and a razortail on my pally, so I had to make a javazon. Levels so fast. Don’t even need teleport. Just kill everything between you and your goal in seconds and runs fast, too. By the time you would even get hammers cranking everything is dead with 'zon. And they have much better defense than Sorcs. It’s really a perfect class capable of handling anything in the game. If I can get mats for another Infinity I want to try the spear/lightning strike build. Looks really fun and easier on Ubers, too.

Druid pretty fun till hell. Just drop fissures everywhere and melt everything. I use them to get low level gems when I need to consolidate runes.

Don’t know about the least played but here are some numbers to show what interest each class skill offer generates

These are just for the fun of seeing what is the perspective of the playerbase on certain skills and how viable they think they are

If we drew the viability of the skills based on the majority, therefor at least half of the people consider the skill viable makes it pass, so here are the results.

If the ladder is any judge I counted the number of characters that were level 97 or higher.

  1. Sorceress (712)
  2. Paladin (514)
  3. Amazon (170)
  4. Barbarian (71)
  5. Necromancer (39)
  6. Druid (37)
  7. Assassin (36)

So sorceress and paladins dominate, which surprises no one. Amazon is more popular than I thought, though that is probably just my own bias.

What really surprised me is how few high level necromancers there are. They’re one of my favorite classes, and I always thought they were really popular. Yet, they’re at the bottom with the druid and assassin.

I bet another good way to judge popularity are prices of Torches over on JSP and other trade forums. The more popular a class, the higher demand and higher price it will be.

Those characters dont get used much because the drop rates suck.

Ive played every single class in the game at some point with BIS gear because back in the day Items and Runes were easy to get.

But after the PvP Fhr Stun Nerf, They pretty much eliminated what made all the classes BALANCED in a pvp environment.

Im Just playing a paladin now. I cant afford to play anything else. The paladin is only 8 months old and i still cant put on my old setup (what used to be cheap and easy to aquire) for pvp. Just cant afford to play anything else so I dont even have a guess as to what the least played class is, Because alot of these new people dont know anything about the game and just pic a character based on what it looks like now.
