Man the most recent ASL was insane, great stuff. I always root for Terrans. 
Every ARPG since Diablo has struggled with melee balance. Even Path of Exile has this period of melee being inferior until proper gear is acquired.
The answer is to retool the base item values of weapons especially 2 handed weapons. Requiring a ceiling of 250%+ ewd to be good is the problem. It’s a meteoric affix lotto that should probably be closer to 200%+ ewd and the base items buffed to compensate.
