Jewels, can't be used as a character name

Censorship a little out of hand I think. I noticed the language filter and such is a bit odd and touchy. Jewels is a profane character name I guess these days. Oh and if you want to talk about Ho-mo Sapiens in chat it’s also censored because it contains the word ho-mo in it. LoL what in the world is happening to censorship these days? No boobs, can’t say jewel. What’s next?

Is it a family name

The family jewels awe yes. This is an adult game still where Nephilim take on the devil and the demons of hell right?

Is it just “Jewel” or “Jewels”, or can you name it something with jewel in the name, such as “JewelCrafter” or “JewelMule”?

I suppose you could use a different spelling… Jules or Joules. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretty ridiculous though.

Maybe the devs, or whoever is responsible for the cencoring is ho-mo phobic, and can’t stand the word?

Try it out. Probably anything with Jew in it, which is a heritage and culture by the way not a profane word. LOL such as being Jewish makes a person a Jew. Not much profane about it I don’t think. White people are called white still right? I mean… I dunno maybe my post is unnecessary but I feel the need to speak up when a game about slaying demons gets unicorns, teddy bears, and rainbows in it.

Funny…I saw a character with anal in the name today…but Jewels is bad? :man_shrugging:

Yeah, the guy who coded the rules for naming was a little overzealous. But Sinister is right, I am pretty sure that Blizzard is offended by the word billions of people use to refer to a specific group of people whom have been historically discriminated against. You can create names with Je, just not followed immediately by a w. But only if your name starts like that. If you, say, make a character named EJewels, the game is all cool with it.

But what really sucks is that the game wont let you put in any name beginning with Se. Sean, Sebastian, Seline, Seamus, Serverus and other of their ilk are seen as no no words. It is completely ridiculous and even carries over to chat as well. The censorship in this game is rampant.

Yep. censorship and fruit appreciation is the path to a better future… :man_facepalming:

Neither can set/sets.

Actually, you are not Nephalim in this as the World Stone is keeping that latent ability dormant. It doesn’t appear in the lore that you ever ‘transcend’

Too much Jew in jewels maybe

EJewels works just fine.

I called my jewel mule Jeulez or something to that effect. LOL

What? So the lore says what about the Diablo 2 characters you play as? That you are a normal human with super powers who kills Diablo? You turn into Diablo in the first game and back then I think they are also wandering Nephilim. Maybe you are right though and the third one is the only one with them in it and in this installment we play as elves and dwarves…

Since that didin’t work i just used the Swedish word instead: Juveler.

Magic isn’t just the realm of the Nephalem. Before Nephalem was, essentially, reawakened you had the Mage Wars in Sanctuary.

I don’t think any of the books go into if your character in D2 ever transcends but Zultan Kule (sp?) in 3 seems to infer that there have been no Nephalem since the World Stone was made and in Book of Tyrael it states that the World Stone was created to ensure that the powers of the Nephalem were never awakened again.

Interesting side note. Undead are ‘native’ to Sanctuary and the Necromancy should not actually work in heaven or hell but… game mechanics, lol

That’s interesting though and had always thought that the characters had been demi-gods or something like that considering they have a lot of power compared to other people who are in the game and towns.

I have yet to make a mule in D2R. Stop hoarding useless garbage
