I am quite pissed but trying to be as neutral as possible:
I was making Uber with my brother and finally we cleared the stuff. However, because my Smiter was surrounded by hordes of mobs, i was finally killed. What followed was trial and error to get the to the torch. Finally, my brother reached the torch, opened his inventory (which was full by the way except there was enough space in his cube) and tried to drag it into his cube. That’s exactly where he died, too. Then followed 1 hour of pure agony. We were searching for the torch, no one had it in his inventory and it was nowhere in the whole Uber level. We reconnected, checked different characters, checked the level 10 times, it was nowhere, it simply vanished.
I was able to recreate this type of bug doing the following: i cleared my inventory and put only 1 healing potion in it. Then, I made exactly what he died: grabbed the potion and died with it. Then, there were 2 outcomes that could be observed: 1) The potion was in my inventory again if i reached my corpse and picked stuff up. 2) When i left the game and reconnected, grabbed my corpse the potion was nowhere to be found. And i think thats what happened here. However, technically, the torch was never in his inventory because it was full. So there was no argument why the torch shouldn’t still lie on the ground.
This is very sad because i farmed my a** of to get the keys, make a smiter and then got a kick in my butt from the game. Furthermore, while doing Uber, we naturally panicked 2 times because there were server connection problems when trying to re-login and we feared it would simply close and the torch was lost (funny enough, this was still the final outcome).
