I can say for sure, I am getting old, remembering the last 25 years of d2.
I disagreed whole time bring up p8 in the battle.net, cuz it was unnecessary and you could do it the solo way.
But there are two importand aspects that changed my opinion.
- to have any chance to reach the first places at the Ladderboard, you re forced to use 3rd party tools to implent fillers, playing solo in p8. (Everyone does this!)
- If everyone can mf on p8, most of the ppl will solo farm their stuff and dont need to shop or trade the external way and if no one need to shop, more bots getting useless.

1: Group players have had this game figured out for a while now. You will never reach #1 on the ladder with /p8 solo, because groups of players will still always win the race to 99.
2: Which invalidates pretty much all but a few select OP builds, which would require Blizzard to balance the lesser builds… AKA power creep.
If you want /players X, it’s available in local single player. Ladder rankings are meaningless.

I do and most of the players i know, also do it. You dont want me to tell the name of the progs, but in fact everyone who will go #1 using fillers. Don‘t say anything else. It‘s bullsh…. No one going for p8 group play, cuz its useless xp…
I don’t care to stay up for several days in a row just to reach a top spot on a ladder of a 24 year old game. Before the introduction of Terror Zones, it was much longer.

A “fresh” account creating another of this thread… tells me that he created lots of these threads already with some alts.
A player that knows the game for 25 years and can’t see that /pX wouldn’t change his ranking on the race for 99 
The statement that people wouldn’t shop items anymore if there was p8 is not thought trough well, easy said.
Bots would even profit from that.
People who can’t get gear on p1 won’t get it on p8. It still is a matter of luck, dedication and persistence, wich lots of people don’t have, I assume since shops works well.

This is rly wasting of time, seeing 2 ppl with lot‘s of post in this forum having absolutly now experience of the this game.
If ppl like we are, going for speedrunning the ladder, wouldn‘t be there anymore, this game getting worth a shi…
You guys should invest more time in real gameplay. I had already 10k runs in olybaal when you guys realized that d2 exist.
Its a fact, that everyone using fillers and its a fact that p8 giving a lot more and better stuff. Don‘t ignore that.

Yeah, there are plenty of multi accounters who have 7 other accounts just chilling in the game so they can get the XP boost… Who would want to just sit there for ~5 days straight just to give someone else a boost? And yes, using 7 other accounts to give yourself an XP/item drop rate boost is an EXPLOIT. But still, a group of players will still have the advantage, because the other members of the group can be off in other games (or in the same game for that matter) farming items for the person they are focusing on to reach the top of the ladder to improve their gear. If they can kill faster, they rake in XP faster.
Again, you wouldn’t ever reach #1 as a one-man-show even with /players 8 on Battle.net.
Honestly it sounds like you are more after getting items faster anyway. /Players X isn’t coming to Battle.net. Accept it.

The group you re talking about are friends for a long time. And again, Speedrunning will only help you til you will have to start TZ with lvl 93/94. In TZ you will have to fill the game by yourself and playing alone, cuz the stupid mechanic blizzard made with TZs, makes it absolutly useless splitting xp in group play. The only way, making group play interesting again, would be more xp in throne room maybe.
So blizzard bezter accept 3rd party multiboxing instead of making itself…
Blizzard arguments were, that they do not want playing the game alone, but exactly this happening. So they can make p8 for everyone, that ppl dont need to run several instances of the game… that is completely trashing gaming atm…

Why not play the game solo? We play games to kill what would otherwise be time spend in boredom… So why do you have to go from zero to hero so quickly? Why are you in a rush to keep up with the Joneses? It’s pretty much a solo game anyway, play the game as it was intended to be played… You might enjoy yourself more when you’re not so wrapped up in trying to compete with others who are using exploits and cheats.

I’m not sure why this point is constantly brought up in /p8 discussions. You have to be able to actually kill things in /p8 for the command to matter at all. The pacing of the game on bnet won’t change in any way with this command for solo play.
Nightmare difficulty is often overlooked. People would sandbag nightmare @ /p7 for a bit with their Blizzard sorcs and Hammerdins until they get the key gear items they need, then maybe a quick respec, then smooth sailing through Hell.
Come on bro… we re playing the game on bnet for over 20 years. Why should we go solo?! We speedrunning together, baaling together and we also would run TZ together, but its not worth the xp…
If i would play solo, i would not post or know this forum would every exist…

But what kind of acceleration is that really? Nightmare is already full games of baal runs to get into hell farming asap.
It’s all about targeted farming and killing monsters as quickly as possible.
In nightmare, most monsters can be blown over like paper bags. Yeah you don’t get the best drops in the game compared to Hell, but there are targeted drops in NM that can set you up. Gul does drop in late NM, and we all know what build can be made with that rune. (rather two of them)

Its not about baalrunning in NM here. Its about the fact, that solo p8 TZ running is the way to go, if you wanna go fast 99. Doing group TZ is outdated and only for casual mfer

That’s true, but what does /p8 do for time saves in that very specific fraction of farming? I’m not saying that solo play won’t have access to better rng with /p8, but I find the talk surrounding that better access consistently hyperbolic. I’m wondering why detractors actually think it matters.
