Isn't Diablo 2: Resurrected supposed to be a Remaster?

Yep - case in point. I want personal loot, but I know it would be a drastic change and so I know it really shouldn’t happen. People need to be aware of themselves in relation to the community and their own biases.

There has been a ton of negative feedback on the character models (especially for the amazon).

Do you agree that this character model changes the feel of the game?

They already said they are fixing the model on that one.

We live in a post D3 world now which means caution is of the utmost importance in this matter

I do care about equity. How is it fair if as a ranged player I kill the majority of enemies in an 8 player game way less than 1/8 of the loot due to people running hack and leeching. Are you supported leechers and people running hacks? I am strongly against cheaters.

I don’t really care if your solution to your problem is to tank the economy

Pretty sure if they release D2R and work on fixing bugs that were original to the game and new to the remaster, it’s still D2. Also pretty sure, by adding purely QoL fixes, it’s still D2.

You have not addressed specifically how this tanks the economy. 80 items drops is still 80 item drops.

This is not only my problem. This is a widely reported problem by many players.

I’m not going to explain anything to you when you are arguing in bad faith fully aware it will be drops for everyone and not split between them like you say. You are clearly just trying to muddy the waters right now pushing to see how far you can make people give ground on the integrity of the original to see how much you can get away with.

This goes for everyone. If you’re playing strictly for loot, don’t play in public games. Farm solo or play with friends, or find a clan that has a friendly policy on loot. There will be plenty of people with this mindset, trust me.

Removing an element from the game that encourages communication and collaboration among friends in a multiplayer game is a terrible change. Personal loot is one of the worst, and most egregious ideas you could introduce to Diablo 2. It is a mechanic that made Diablo 3 feel more like a bad MMO or a phone game, rather than an authentic dungeon crawler ARPG.

Same for me. Let’s keep in mind, that it is just the core game. Potential mods can still give you different experiences with D2R.

I am not arguing in bad faith. Many D2 players want personal loot. In terms of economics, 80 item drops in 8 player game that are global versus 10 drops each for the eight players is still 80 drops.

The total number of items in the economy are completely unchanged. Your argument is that global drops will change the distribution of who gets the 80 drops. Global drops promote some players to engage in toxic behavior to get more loot by melee leechers/autoclicker hacks.

This argument is strange to me. If you has personal loot, you can still communicate with friends to communicate. To me, this is a logical fallacy. Communication would continue.

There it is! This is where I disregard the rest of your nonsense lmao

Do you actually mean D3 players? Because a lot of D3 players love Personal Loot.
Keep the game original. D3 has Personal Loot, go play D3.

My full quote is

D2 players have broadly complained about this type of behavior for many, many years. I do not support bots and hacks. Many D2 players agree with this.

D3 have hackers aswell, maybe bots too.
You guys are really trying to ruin Diablo 2 Resurrected for us.

I played D2 for thousands of hours. I and presumably others as illustrated by the forum prefer personal loot. It is a significant subset of D2 players.

On PC, D3 is relatively hack-free. Bots are a different story. Hopefully with integration into battlenet, D2R will reduce (although not eliminate botting).

Why can’t you play Diablo 3? Let Diablo 2 stay Diablo 2.

I think you and I both know it’s not that easy for them. Seeing people have fun playing D2 is obviously a stressful experience for these people since it causes them to doubt the enjoyment they have when playing their favorite game, D3. Instead of just continuing to play the game that killed the original sequel to D2, they would again rather kill the remaster of D2.

My plan is to play both. The good news is if I want a pure D2 experience, I can fire up my collector’s edition of D2/LoD. I can also play D3. If I want an improved D2 with fixes to problematic issues (stash, graphics, character expiration), I can play D2R.

3 choices are better than 2 where D2R is a carbon copy of D2.
