Multiple tweets including pre and post D2R announcement. Twitch video. Youtube video. Multiple linked and verifiable sources. No one has to take my word on what Brevik has communicated. They can read his tweets and watch the videos that prove I am correct.
Run 7 Nova sorcs and a Tesladin through CS a few thousand times a week and tell me you’d get the same amount of loot on average as your p1. Im not playing p8, Im playing with 7 other players. Loot goes to FG, FG is split between the players. All 8 players have enough FG to buy endgame gear in Diablo 16: Resurrected.
Toxic is an overused buzzword tossed about by those annoyed with the persistence of opposing opinions.
As for my comment you listed, after a year of seeing ploot arguments flatly lied about I no longer care about the plight of the plooters. Frankly, go play another game.
I had Micro literally trying to debate me in another thread about the increased occurrence of loot retrieval with respect to location when a monster dies. I’ve just lost all patience with obtuse individuals.
Take any number of Micro’s copy pastes where he believes David Brevik said he’d want ploot in D2R, despite him never having actually said this. It’s been a year of that crap.
The only way to implement ploot in D2R without dividing up one boss drop of 6-8 items amongst 8 people, irrespective of damage, is to up the drop rate. This is something rabid plooter fanatics on D2R claim they’d never do, despite it being the ONLY actual solution to the problem.
No one wants to kill Baal or Diablo and literally see 0 loot drops in 2/3 of their 8 man Chaos runs. It’s worse than watching something get “ninja’d” despite that being literally impossible in an FFA system. The solution is to increase the drop so all 8 players get 6-8 pieces. This is bad for the game, because it irrevocably damages the drop rates so precariously set by devs and progression of ladder and HC.
Not to mention I don’t believe in having 2 loot systems in an ARPG unless it was designed that way from the beginning.
You’re a cool dude excala1, and I don’t mean to come off rude. I’m off to kill Adam Smasher, for … reasons.
well can’t really say that without testing the 3 dif proposed alternate loot systems. personally I think my modified timed loot would be popular. But at this exact moment we really can’t “for sure say” as I’m sure you will have to admit.
wasn’t an idea yet. hard to design game systems for all future problems. As you know I design myself and I can say it’s near impossible.
as to micro he is very laser focused on certain things as others are about other things. I can understand levels of frustration, some of our previous engagements for example. However ultimately we all love the game. we should be finding a way to tell something in better ways. we (myself included) can sometimes forget that part in the heat of these discussions over loot
I am not defending my case. Im waiting for someone to justify changing core game mechanics to turn a 99% solo game into a 100% solo game (because they have no one to play with so blizz should change the game for them.) Im not arguing with you, Im just telling you your idea is stupid.
You are entitled to your opinion and perspective. My perspective comes from a player who does not d2jsp or do fg. Your perspective comes from a different place.
Yeah, Ive not actually seen how ploot can be balanced.
Sure, theres going to be people who take some items here or there. But I would never carry a lobby if I dont get to see 7/8th of the item drops.
Also, if they implement online players X, I dont see why anyone would play in a lobby. Unless they buff monsters to the point where they are impossible to solo.
I mean, it’s still the same. it’s discussion over “changing core mechanics” right?
as to the
is up for debate. firstly, this online live game is not a 99% solo game. the majority of the player base actually plays online just not grouped as well as they could be which gets to the root of the problem, which is loot in multiplayer. Which leads to the 3 different proposed loot options and brings us to oct. 3rd 2022 in a conversation/topic that started spring of '21ish
