I'm tired of no games being listed

I’m on a server where there are at most 3 games listed at any time. Most of the time only 1. I don’t have a VPN, I can’t just change what server I am on. Please combine servers, or at least give me a way to change which one I’m on. This is so dumb, I want to play the game but literally can’t.

UPDATE: Since people don’t read everything, here is what I posted later in this thread to explain why I don’t just “make your own game”.

"Some are saying make my own games. That doesn’t change the fact that the amount of players on my server are much lower than other servers. I made a tomb game and no one joined after clearing every tomb myself.

Others are saying make friends. Sure, if you’re all the same level, in the same difficulty, wanting to do the same activity. The chances of finding 8 people to level up together in the same level range is just not realistic.

This is an issue, and to anyone trying to give “solutions” that I personally can make, is missing the point of the post. I’m not able to find games to play with other people and they can’t find my games, even though we are in the same region. There is no way for me to change which server. I want to play with 8 people, and I literally can’t in my area.

Sometimes by a miracle, I log in and I see 20+ games. Awesome! I join a game and then eventually leave. Now my game list only shows 1 game available. Try using a VPN and see what happens, and you might understand what the issue actually is."

You can’t make a game yourself and play? Hmm… I don’t have any issues doing that.

In the terrible advice of these trash purists “PLAY SINGLE PLAYER BECAUSE /PLAYER 8 DOESN’T NEED TO BE ON BNET”. And they wont combine servers, americas have too much latency vice versa.

I hear you Red, I think that a lot players are so fed up with the current game lobby system that they (serious players) have migrated to Discord servers and JSP forum game listings.

Do you remember how many games were awful trade game names? I don’t blame then, one should always be trading in D2, but Blizzard did not create a dedicated trading/functioning live forum that can compete with 3rd party resources.

I believe, and this is my opinion, that most players are playing in private games. Private games are superior to public games because players there are agreeing to certain rules. We are here to focus on one thing. To either MF, XP farm or quest together with a common goal.

Pub games can be very toxic with player griefing others via PK or spamming hateful things. Random players can steal loot from you and there are no consequences for their action. They cannot be held accountable in public games. Public chats are filled with spam bots (for that authentic D2LOD experience :grin:) and Blizzard trade forums are (in my opinion) cumbersome and too slow to use.

So why not join them? It’s a better experience once you get situated in your own community.

Well, of course there are never any games listed.
Everyone is sitting there waiting for everyone else to make a game.

Exactly this. People want to be hand-fed their gaming experience and not take the lead and make the games themselves. Make your own games – if you wish to farm baal for xp, Make your own baal game and people will show up.

I’m guessing you are talking Softcore. It is much worse in HC.

This needs to be addressed by Blizzard, not by the players having to come up with workarounds. Being region locked was something they promised D2R would resolve… we can play with anyone in any region now, right? Well give us the full game lists.

He can make his own game, but it’s going to take a lot longer to fill up than it did in 2001. At that point you’re just playing single-player.

I’ve made plenty of my own games, no one joins (or takes 5 minutes or more because my game isn’t being broadcasted to the majority of the playerbase like the original game did. That’s a waste of time for anyone that wants to play on players 8. It’s not the players fault, the fault is on Blizzards side.

Make friends then. I routinely have friends join when I log in. I think we can all agree the lobby system as it currently is is woefully archaic and in need a re-tool. That’s just not on their list of things to do in 2.4 so you’ll have to work with what you have for now.

Server browser is bad. I get it works like og d2 but why not Improve it? Filters and maybe refresh actually refreshes the game list.
The real issue is it takes forever for the game list to refresh or update if none of the games are what you wanted. I feel og d2 updated much more often too. I usually just get mad and quit. Trading is impossible except outside the game

I’m just here to gripe about the lobby issue. I was watching a streamer Baal run, same USHC as I’m on. I couldn’t see the game and I watched it for a few in with 6 players in it. Yes I just typed the game name in but I was watching the lobby to see when it would come up. It never did…

I think they are talking about how there’s either a bug or a “feature” where sometimes it won’t show games, maybe due to latency or region or I really don’t know why but it happens, and it is truly annoying, I feel OP’s pain

Hardcore has always been like this. Another reason is most people on HC play private , I don’t need some noobs showing up and making my game harder but then don’t wanna do anything. I don’t want people taking my drops as HC is hard enough , most of us play with friends in private games.

Also there is one guy who runs into games pking people forget his name but I’m sure anyone who ran into him now goes with password

It does seem strange but this is why I just used discord to find fellow HC players to play with.

Agreed, list all the games. If I join one and don’t like the latency I can leave. ffs Blizzard fix the lobby.

Drop rates for runes weren’t increased, D2jsp players ruin the game for themselves by trading items for FG / real currency… what did you expect was going to happen?

They’re all waiting for ladder reset to see how much faster they can cheat all over again… it literally makes zero sense. It’s not even a challenge for them in the first place so why even bother doing it hundreds of times over?

They don’t value their time at all and ruin it for the rest of the player base by hording GG near perfect items and then erasing them on a ladder reset… it’s the epitome of selfishness.

Game’s already DOA… most of the player base got their nostalgia fix. It only cost $50 to be reminded how terrible this game’s community actually is.

They’re too busy nerfing meta builds and trying to give worthless skills meaning to be bothered with fixing how broken the games mechanics still are. The game is already over for 95% of the people who purchased it.
