Huge problem, please help

For the past couple months or so I’ve been playing Diablo 2 resurrected on my PS4 offline with NO internet connection. I even disable my PS4 from connecting to the internet to make sure it doesn’t try. It’s worked wonderfully.

Last night I turned the game on and whenever It shows the title screen after I hit X to continue it says “failed to authenticate, please try again.” Now it won’t stop doing this.

I have patch 2.4 installed and it’s worked fine for months and now this happens out of the blue. Can anyone please help me understand why this started happening and maybe help me find a solution

You gotta connect to the internet so your blizz account can authenticate. YeS EvEn wItH OfFLiNe pLAy!

with each update you’ll have to auth your copy again, once. then you can disconnect it.

I know, what’s the point of playing offline if you have to go online, right? Makes perfect sense!! :crazy_face:

Thanks all. I connected to internet for latest patch and now it’s working as intended again.
