buffs Leap attack in a very logical and thematic way
Could have been based on stamina which makes sense since leaping like this requires fitness
Then make it based on your character’s stamina
Which would then give skills like “ Increased stamina” a potential use, not to mention the items that could be unravelled by this kind of mechanic
Logic wise the higher your stamina, the higher you jump, the stronger the stomp
Tldr: it doesn’t cost mana but instead cost a % of your stamina, the integer quantity of stamina remaining determine the damage modifiers, making you next jump potentially weaker if you don’t regenerate stamina fast enough
For example: I played with maxroll character creation to see how high you can get stamina. Might be able to get bigger but I reached 12000 stamina and lol it gives an eclectic build haha
If it was 1:1 stamina=> damage, it would make up for nice damage considering
Anyway, would have been a nice way to improve leap attack while making stamina and increased stamina relevant and give a meaning to some left field items
Benefits:
Unique mechanic
buff to stamina items
buff to stamina barb skills
the ability for leap attack to actually deal damage
based on logic… more athletic means you can jump higher… jump higher means more force when landing… which means more damage
BONUS ROUND!
There could be 3 different size of leap attack aoe based on the armor type you wear
no & light armor= small radius
medium armor = normal radius
heavy armor = big radius
same could be done with weapons
Cool even more personal attacks with absolutely no explaination behind them, at least when I call somebody ignorant, I take the time to explain why I do and where hes misguided
So for you wanting to improve a skill and give a potential use for an unused mechanic which the class in question has a dedicated passive skill for it… is stupid?
Stamina is useless
Increase stamina is useless
Leap attack is bad therefor useless
A single change could make them good and useful… and if not… it can’t be more useless than it already is lol
I hate this idea. Stamina has nothing to do with physical strength. I have never seen a buffed marathon runner, they are all lean.
Get rid of stamina. It only hurts non-teleporting builds and forces players to carry stam pots early on taking up space when you to be picking up loot.
Hey that is fun. up there is the definition on strength.
Sure a person with stamina could jump around longer then one without.
Would you rather be hit by Eliud Kipchoge or by Gregor Clegane?
If you think strength and stamina are the same thing after seeing the definitions then you have not gained a hatefan but a person who pitys your tiny brain.
I didnt personally attack you untill YOU started it. Something you yourself were critical of right here in this thread. So stop being a hypocrit.
I am however a new fan of “quotation marks” Weeeeeee!
Except that this is not criticism, the dude even admitted that he has come here to trash my concept on the sole premise that I called him ignorant in another post… duly so
It’s not a response to criticism it just keeping the facts straight while some sad little souls having nothing better to do than taking somebody in gripe and bend everything he says to defame him
And even if it was criticism… in what weird world do you live in where you have to shut your mouth when bad tales are perpetrated against you and your ideas lol
Please quote where this was admitted as you say. Nobody has brough up anything about any other thread. You where the first one to make a personal attack here in this thread, and nobody defamed you. Anyone who comes here can read everything that was said and will know you are lying.
The criticism is based soley on the premise of your idea. I gave facts.
In what weird world are people offended by imperical data.
I personally rather stamina be removed from the game. It currently has no useful benefits. Blizzard should also remove “stamina” potions from the game as it just clutters the loot drops.
Complexity is not always a good addition to this game, i prefer a simple clean approach to game mechanics. As long as its intuitive. If you want to synergize a skill why not do so based on main stats instead?
Playing Barb, stamina feels like unnecessary punishment early in the game. Then the skill is garbage, as all you ever need is one point.
I like Seks idea of changing it in some way, or making the skill useful.
I do dread the though of just being forced to put points in, to make another skill better, unless stamina itself was a useful skill.
How about if ww was based on stamina usage instead of mana, but adding to the stamina skill also added to ww damage?
I guess trying to make Leap attack more useful has merit - but have you ever used that skill as an endgame attack? yuck
