Hello there.
Auras from Items, including endgame runewords are completely bugged. The issues vary from mildly-annoying to bricking the Runeword’s appeal completely. Below I’ll talk about Dream and Dragon RWs:
- Dream Runeword and Holy Shock aura:
Last week I put together a Dream runeword for my Zealot. The Holy Shock aura keeps turning off for half a second (with the damage reduction clearly reflected on the character sheet) and switching back on. This happens like every 5-10 seconds. Added lightning damage to attacks is completely removed and the AoE lightning damage from the area is as well. This had led to some deaths in fights where I’d actually kill the monster with the Zeal strikes if the aura hadnt turned off.
I also have an Azurewrath equipped, and the Sanctuary aura behaves the same way.
Picking up items from the ground, interacting with them on the inventory (clicking) and/or dropping items to the ground also causes the auras to turn off in a somewhat predictable pattern as well.
Everytime the auras “turn on” again, they’ll make their skill sound, and the sounds stack. So you can imagine how it feels after a while…
- Dragon Runeword, Holy Fire Aura and Hydra Proc (CTC):
The aura behaves in pretty much the same pattern, turning on and off at random and on a predictable pattern when clicking any item, anywhere, anytime.
The greatest problem here is that Hydras that spawn are DE-spawned at random. Sometimes they’ll spawn and before even firing their first volley, they’ll disappear, others will last 2 seconds, others 5 seconds, some will last the for whole duration (default 10 seconds).
Now, I’m unsure if the Hydra’s de-spawning problem is related to Auras’ issue, as I’ve found google results for inconsistent Hydra despawns. So this one might be a legacy bug made worse with whatever bricking inventory/items/auras interaction.
There seems to be some relation between engaging in combat and hydras despawning, for after some testing, it seems that I stop attacking enemies, most hydras tend to last their full duration.
Would greatly appreciate fixes.
