Every Streamer Has Alpha

Pretty sad, especially seeing these steamer partneships with gambling sites getting prioritized access to a TECHNICAL alpha, rather than veteran players of the game who have deep insight into faithful D2. I’m sure Blizzard prioritizing popularity and money over its core player base won’t result in a poor release. That’s never happened with Blizzard right? Oh wait…

I like to play hardcore and max strength on my barbarian, this works best if you don’t have max block, I also prioritize damage over resistances, maxing grim ward early on is also effective.

So how do we help out our favorite small streamer who didn’t get an invite. Is there a place we can let Blizz know who we would like to see get an invite to the next round?

I have played all of them 1, 2, & 3 and I’m in. I have played Diablo 3 from day one too.

i got you bro, me too. i would have also diablo 3 beta key… im not in ^^

Honesty, I think Blizzard releasing the Alpha Access yesterday into the weekend wasn’t the best choice. People around the world probably took the weekend off in “hopes” to receive a invite via email or if they check bnet to download and play the Alpha. On top of that, allowing “streamers” who have zero knowledge or experience of the Diablo series is a waste of access if they are only participating in medicore gameplay then decide “Really don’t know what I’m doing but oh, well, that was neat, I guess, back to WoW!”. At least from the D2 Purists, Blizzard will receive quality feedback.

At this point, especially since it’s the weekend where majority of D2 Purist and non-purists have the “opportunity” to play the Alpha, it would be in the best interest for Blizzard to release Alpha Access to everyone who OPT-IN. If Blizzard thought about this process, the more exposure D2R will receive and in turn possibly Blizzard will notice a increase of D2R Pre-Purchase sales. Coming from a 15 year D2 player, it’s pretty upsetting being unable to partake in the Alpha while Timmy who’s been streaming D2 all about 5 min with 1 viewer gets Alpha Access.

#RELEASE-ALPHA-TO-ALL

I think Blizzard weighed their options very carefully and decided they’re doing the right thing. They have much better insight into the reputational and financial value of letting limited players in vs the expenses and potential damage of spinning up more servers and risking outages.

You might want to check out how to form a paragraph. That bullet point format makes for an awkward read.

I’m still wondering which 15 people won in the first challenge. The riddle.

After seeing tech alpha I don’t have too high hopes for the game. There is no way they can get that much bugs fixed by end of year, meaning it will be released with lots of bugs, don’t think they even gonna fix swap casting bug either. Rather they just make the current D2 like the PlugY mod instead.

I registered about 10 emails… have pre ordered the game on 3 accounts… How the hell have i not had one accepted alpha request… i have been playing d2 since release yet any twitch streamer gets instant access??? No way do i believe this was a fair decision… how 10 emails get declined is unrealstrong text

Even if you had 1000 emails the odds of you getting into alpha would be very slim probably.

Most of the bugs to me look quite easy to fix.
Remember that the old bugs that worked in a players favor are most likely to remain in D2R. That’s something they intend. If you expect D2R to be a remaster of D2 with all the bugs - good and bad - fixed then this is not the game for you as they already stated otherwise

Preordering is irrelevant and 10 accounts probably still probably equates to 1/100,000 or worse chance to get an alpha invite, so it’s not really that outlandish. Just think… hundreds of thousands or maybe millions of people registered and maybe 100k got in? 10 is paltry compared to the hundreds of thousands or more that also did not get invites.

I played Diablo 2 10 years straight and since then i played it on off… I bought Diablo 2 remake as soon as i could when i heard about it and still i see streamers that is know for streaming anything else than Diablo 2 or 3 for that sake… it feels like getting a kick in the b… when you are a die hard Diablo 2 fan and have been since the start… Blizzard is so bad at the community stuff that it hurts. Where did the old Blizzard go?

Nowhere. Blizzard does not hand out test access based on how much you spend, how long you play games, how many games you own.

If you are friends and family, an influencer/media, etc you go on a list for tests. Everyone else is in the random pool equally.

The one exception they tend to make is for high end raid testing in WoW. They do invite guilds have are currently clearing high end content so they have a coordinated team to test the new content.

You are not really helping here LOL…

NGL; Every time someone, in ANY form, screams ‘I’m a REAL fan! Give ME access!’ all I hear is ‘I want to be compensated in the way I demand. Dance to my tune as the consumer!’

And they are the last people I’d want in my game, as a developer. They’re the type who trawl the forums (or even in game chat) aggressively attacking ‘non fans’ (IE: Anyone not meeting some arbitrary goal that only they seem to meet), and giving no real feedback.

Think skill is powerful in PvP? Well, the ‘True Fan’ uses skill, so you are clearly a noskill scrub who should delete his account!

Think item is really fun? Well, it’s not in the meta, and True Fan only uses meta, so clearly you should lose forum posting privileges!

Seriously; just because you played LoD for 20 years, or own every lore book, or have 300 SoJ’s obtained legitimately, does not mean you deserve Blizzard sending you a key.
Blizzard never said there was any sort of loyalty program, so folks making up crap to demand a key are just being entitled.

What they are really saying is ‘I want a key, so here’s whatever excuse I can invent to demand I be catered too’.

Edit: Also; I’m a streamer, and I never got a key. So no, not every streamer got access.
It sucks, but them’s the breaks.

Blizzard loves my wallet but they don’t love me enough to get an ALPHA key.

If they loved your wallet that much Ventrix you would be able to buy an Alpha key. Obviously, money does not help in this situation.
