Drops suck in D2

The value of MF needs to be increased and drop rates should be adjusted. It is unreasonable to have to run hundreds of glitched hell mephisto runs just to find a pair of war travs. The current system incentivizes people to sell their gear in online stores and promotes botting. If items were easier to find they wouldn’t be so valuable in real-world currency. Also, duping is still rampant in this game, just so you know.

Just go play Diablo 3 my boi . Youre playing a old fart game thats is all about RNG. More player in your game will give you more chance for drop rate.

I am sure you haven’t. It’s much easier to purchase FG from d2jsp and purchase your items from botter’s.

Or just dont be a nub and only play sorc to moat trick meph because you have no skill

I have been enjoying D2 for the past 20 years and there’s nothing inherently wrong with RNG. However, it’s hard to ignore that a significant portion of the high-quality gear in the game is being farmed by botters and sold online.

Yea gear you don’t need. Especially if you’re a sorc. The only gear dependent classes in the game are melee and you dont see me complaining as a ladder start barb.

You don’t complain because your part of the problem.

I don’t complain because i play the game how I want to, and not what some scrubs on YouTube and twitch tell me to.

Okay, if you don’t play ladder and only play melee, why are you commenting on this post? One of those guys who feel the need to inject their opinion into everyone else’s conversation, even though you have no personal stake in the matter… super useful dude. Go back to your modded single player games.

The drop rates indeed are bad

But at the opposite of what you claim

Drop rates are way too high

They should be reduced or have MF significantly nerfed

You have a feeling that drops rate is bad because most items are bad

But rework Unique items and crafting and oh boy you’ll change your mind on drop rates

I’m not sure if drop rates and rng are inherently a problem, but diablo 2 having no bad luck protection system is frustrating if you want a specific item.

The trade system is supposed to account for this, but depending on how much you like the trade system and whether you want to use 3rd party sites/forums have a huge effect on your trading experience.

The game on it’s own ( if you don’t include forums, traderie, d2jsp etc ) is definitely incomplete. It would need an inbuilt functional trade system or some bad luck protection system. It has neither.

I literally just said i started this ladder as a barb. I already have all my bis gear and been horking sojs, bk rings, shakos, arachs, tal armors and amys, maras, etc.

And guess what? Melee barbs dont need any of that gear! So i trade it all for cheap melee gear. Same for ubers. Barbs easiest class to farm ubers, respec to frenzy and do it. Oh no! I found a necro torch! Guess what? You can pretty much trade any torch for a barb torch.

Oh and I play on controller too.

In my opinion, it is time to move away from the idea of being a uniquely powerful entity during a ladder season. Instead, we can increase the drop rates so that everyone can reach end-game with fully geared characters by the end of each ladder season without the need to purchase items online. There is nothing inherently wrong with this concept, and it shouldn’t bother people to see other players fully geared. In fact, increasing the drop rates could deter online dealers from profiting from the sale of in-game items. No reason to bot = no bots.

agree, dropchances should be lower than they are atm
i found 2 pair of wartravs in not even 100 runs way too common…

“I don’t even see how bots actively effect me. Besides the market beeing overflowed with items (which you still won’t just get for free) what actually makes everyone so mad about it? I really would like to know. I can still find people to play, trade and enjoy with. Even tho the market it full with…”

Sounds suspiciously like something a botter would say.

ye because a botter does play, trade and enjoy the game with other people

Why wouldn’t they? You’re sympathetic to botters because why exactly? Really not very many good answers to that question. Either you are a botter or you are a moron. Especially when you consider the fact that 90% of the unlikely drops you will find are completely useless. Oh wow you found a shafer’s! Charsy will love that!
