I do not deny that at least 1 person has sold fg for money. I do not deny that at least 1 person has bought fg in order to buy a D2R item. I choose not to worry about the very few that try to cash out from D2R or attempt to poorly P2W at D2R. There are better RMT options to try and P2W, and there are sites advertised in game that would be easier to use to cash out on D2R than using FG. I’m sure yes some have done it, but like that thread was pretending it isn’t nearly as many people who use other sites. Meanwhile the vast majority of D2JSP and D2R trades on that site are simply fg circulating back and forth with no purchases made or money made. It is by far and large just a trading platform.
Now it claims the JSP community is largely made of “hackers/botters/exploiters/RMTwebsites.” No hacks / bots / exploits / RMT sites are allowed to be posted on the forum. There is better policing of those 4 things on JSP than there is in the in game chat channels. There are just as many of those types of users doing the same thing on traderie, but you don’t focus on that site? Why is that? Same thing with whatever discord group you’re a member of. Just as many.
Now by far and large there are plenty of falsehoods in the post as well as most other JSP hate threads. It isn’t the type of falsehood someone could state if they actually tried to use the site and just trade. I do understand why those don’t like saved FG, I do understand why people don’t like the potential for RMT, but I think that its occurrence is much more minimal than all of you think AND you’d know that if you actually used the site. Meanwhile even the small potential for abusers in any system is far outweighed by how much JSP and FG speed up trading. I and every other JSP user gets to spend more time playing D2R and progressing through the game because of how fast JSP facilitates trades.
I know you will hyper focus on the potential for abuse on JSP. I could apply the exact same reasoning to traderie and even whatever discord you are a part of. I choose to not care because overall the most impactful things to the entire market are not JSP or Traderie or a Discord. It is that Blizzard doesn’t care about Bots or the massive amount of RMT sites. Probably because they can’t do much about either of them, and Blizzard most likely loves the income they get from botters rebuying keys.

I don’t like any site that uses rmt and thats why i play the game within an 8 man group of friends and we trade amongst ourselves with the loot we find in game. We don’t use any rmt sites and never will. We play the game as it was intended to be played legit. You can use jsp to trade but you can’t expect people who are against it to consider jspers legit when they have a leg up on everyone at the start of a new ladder. I get what your saying but having a site with a history of botting and cheating is hard to move past as a legit player. I get your point about trading and i wish blizzard would honestly step up and implement a trading post or something other than the current way to trade in the game. Playing with an 8 man reset team with a horker it just rains hrs so i rarely have the need to go outside my group to make a trade now. Wben i was playing solo i traded a lot in lobbies and played solo for most of the 20 plus years i have been playing. I get your point about waiting for hours in a lobby only to haggle with someone who didn’t read the script to see the offer. But i can’t justify personally using a site that is akin to rmt and has rmt’d in the past. All in all what i’m saying is that that only way i want to play the game is the way it was meant to be played.

Trading was never a problem! Greed, gate keeping, and extremely low chance of HR drops are the main problem.
Another is outdated unique/legendary items. Spirit Keeper and Medusas Gaze should be phenominal items but they are garbage.

That sounds reasonable to me. I just wanted to separate that it isn’t all that bad and while the use of FG might be a bit tainted, by far and large JSP is just a bunch of traders, though I completely understand why some wouldn’t want to use it. For me I just don’t care to waste time trading in game when JSP makes it easy. Thats also cool that you got a solid group going. That was another reason why I liked JSP at least after D2R launched. There were a ton of people grouping up, so if my friends weren’t online I could just hop into another baal run or MF game that was run privately and smoothly. Again I get the reason why people see the negative side and can’t judge those for not using it. I hope that most wouldn’t judge me too harshly, but I find no fun in trading in game, but I like to trade to improve my chars and JSP just makes it so easy and quick I refuse to go back to other methods on a regular basis.
On the note of yalls HR finds in your friend group. You ever watch that guy ilovemf? Yes I know tragically he uses JSP
but he just released a video that said he has found while farming about like 45 HRs since release. Simply crazy. I’ve found a decent bit but I don’t get to play as much as most people do. Hork barb is good, makes life super easy when you can’t rely on P8 games nowadys.

Yes i have seen his youtube channel! His videos are funny i like the edits he does when he finds things.
Yea and that dude plays a TON. His content is always so good. I love how often he rolls eth polearms to failure. Always like 1-2 per video.
I think i was watching a video where he bricked an eth thresher on a cube roll and i felt spirtual pain.
The little intro portion where he is chatting with “Dave” with all the foreshadowing is funny too.
this is hilarious so what do you call the codes in any game that unlock content either lvl or equipment that have not been earned
I wouldn’t use such things. Not really understanding how this pertains to diablo 2 though? You can’t use items until you reach the corresponding level. So i guess something that gave you access to items you can’t use because of your level would be cheating in my book.

You actually understand what he was asking? Cuz I figured he accidently misquoted you and posted here. I can’t see anyway what his response could make sense. Perhaps I’m just tired tho.

BTW i play ladder for the content not to win ladder or be better than another as my self worth is not attached to D2R i would happily play non ladder if the content was the same
I’ve “worked” for ever last bit of FG I have.
The jah I sold for fg I found in game all by myself. The fg I used to then improve my character in hopes to find more items to improve my character.
BTW I also play ladder, not to win the lame 99 race but thats cuz I find it lame. My self worth also isn’t attached to D2R. But I do like playing the game and trading off stuff I don’t need to improve my various characters. JSP helps me do that faster and more efficiently than in game, so in the end I get to play more of the game I want to play.
I play ladder largely for the fresh start into fueling up new character and hoping for the super rare finds.
so you dont consider forum gold that was not earned in the current ladder cheating it may be true for you but from a technical point it is not that i have a problem with it is what it is sounds like what you do i wouldnt consider cheating as your forum gold is from the same ladder thats my point
Its an interesting dynamic about the rarity of items in game. The rare items will always have some value, no matter how far removed from a Ladder season.
yes in reality they are the Unique’s
Would me trading my NL items for ladder items produce the same result? Would that be against the rules? Yes, I do get the spirit of the fresh start and understand it. Btw I do have extra FG always saved up from the last ladder, but I’ve never gone into the negative in a new ladder. Because things are so pricey at the start and fall in value, you simply usually don’t have to use past FG. Sure some might, I think it is a small amount of people on JSP, but everything is so expensive most don’t. And let’s say someone uses past 30kfg to buy a ber rune on day 1 8 hours in. Does that really change anything about your experience on that ladder? Were you going to be able to trade for it? Like everything surrounding that ber, there was almost no chance you were going to be able to get it, so why does someone else getting it affect your gameplay?
Obviously it would be cool with a fresh start, that no outside influences could happen. But with RMT sites, NL to Ladder trades even if you got rid of FG people would still not technically be a full fresh start. Not to mention all the donated gear to streamers boosting them well past everyone else. I just don’t care that someone else buys something that I wasn’t going to be able to get anyway.
D2jsp is the biggest problem in D2r.
