Decoy bug 15chars

Quick explanation what it is please. Something about their survivability, but what exactly?
And if you know, is that a d2r exclusive bug or has it been present in LoD as well?
thanks.

Can confirm that it happened sometimes between when I quit in 2.5 and now. Basically you get about 15 casts of Decoy, then it random starts summoning at 1 HP and is pretty much useless. Then if you sit there and spam it for 5 minutes it will randomly start working again and be basically unkillable… then it cycles that.

The problem is better every off meta (non lighting) amazon build pretty much needs Decoy to exist. It’s how Bowa kills D without running enigma/tele charges, it’s how you do things like block doorways on HC, it’s how something like a fend zon deals with projectile opponents. It’s how you deal with prowling dead in Act 5m and it lets you jab beetles/lightning enchanted mobs to death without dying, as well as easily round up cows. Most of all it’s how you prevent getting decrep spammed by Baal in throne.

It’s a pretty core feature to be completely busted because some intern touched the code the wrong way.

Oh, Amazon is my second most fav char. But I usually only run one char per season due to RL time constraints. And my last untwinked zon was a while ago and back then the decoy was still working (at least I hadn’t noticed anything). That’s why I was asking.
I had the good fortune to test out an infinity self-wield spearzon this season thanks to the generosity of other players (and got rushed to Hell act 1) and I didn’t really have to use decoy at all since the zon was so effing overpowered. So didn’t notice there either.

Yeah that’s basically all elemental builds these days. Physical builds are awful compared to them. But yeah for Zon it 100% makes her weaker builds from “weak” to borderline unplayable as a SSF. HC in particular is extra rough. It really relied on the Decoy to scout and block.

Also it’s just a stupid thing to break something months ago, and no even be able to do a simple code revert. I’m kind of suck of the excuse of “but console patches take time to be approved.” Well they’ve had months.
