D2jsp needs to go

Personal loot is an unacceptable approach that belongs to WoW and most don’t like it there either. It was one of the leading reasons D3 failed. It’s a shame because D3 had potential and they just really went in a wrong direction after launch forever hurting the franchise and losing most of it’s players to better games where this isn’t an issue.

I haven’t played D3 since 2014 so I have no idea what any of that means. I left like most people when the game spiraled out of control and quit forever.

There are proven RPG systems that work. These are facts. Diablo is a trading game and built it’s success on that being a farming loot trading game with endless ways to play. RPG games need trading and trading sites to support that. At no point should there be bind on pickup items where you can’t lend them to your friends or to eventually upgrade gear after using them.

These are just the facts and history has proven it. Asking to remove D2JSP is like asking to remove Diablo from the game. They are intertwined and need each other. I say this without bias or being a D2JSP user. Admittedly though I should sign up to make my life easier in this trading game.

D3 still here isn’t it? but other MMORPG is gone … like DAoC, AoN, Ultima on Line etc. Even most famous game ever created - Ever Crack … err sorry Ever Quest had fair share no-drop items (read no trade) … in a matter of fact most MMORPG always had top gear no-trade and for good reason. Something that you got during raid should not be passed down to twink.
But the last line exposing you as a D2jsp agent lol - look, I have zero problem with buying things for real money because for me time = money. What I don’t like is middle men who bring no real value - thus I’d rather use E-bay.
About D3 - you should look on “seasons” model they have now it actually works decent for FPS type of games with limited content (unlike games like EQ, EQ2 and even WoW)

If by here you mean a small niche following and hardly any players. D3 died around 2014/2015. Most players moved onto other games especially as PoE took off to achieve massive success becoming the game that Diablo fans wanted in an expansion.

I hope Activision learns from D3 failures. I really do. They need to learn about what PoE did to capture the RPG market and steal if from Blizzard.

I don’t like FPS. I won’t take a look at D3 as it forever died for me back in 2014 like it did for many players. I’m playing D2R for a reason, because it’s an actual Diablo game that can be enjoyed.

Don’t get me wrong I played D3 a lot early on but they just killed that game with changes and went in the wrong direction. I had no choice but to quit forever due to game breaking decisions.

Twinking is one of the best things to do in an RPG. Nothing like finding cool items on your main and giving them to a low lvl or your friends. It’s a vital part of RPGs and Diablo.

Well you never played in hardcore raiding guild who consumed top content and competed world wide for the first kill
I had my share in EQ … may be to much lol but I was much younger than … BiS items that you are was able get all of them were no drop, rewards for epic quest - no-drop … only junk gear was tradable or crafting materials (and again not all of them). All I am saying that “traditional” MMORPG never had trade as vehicle to getting by someone top gear. Yes some sales still happened behind scene (like paying top guild for right to loot some missing piece for your epic quest) but otherwise? trade did exist on the low-mid tier of game and never in the end-game
D2 have unique charm but not because of trading  because of rune words

Step 3 is profit?

Very true. I just think some people don’t understand that Diablo is a loot hunting trading game for some reason. It’s kinda strange that some people aren’t aware of the type of game they are playing. All trading sites do is compliment and help the game and it’s community grow. That is why D2 and D2JSP have been around forever and so successful. They are different sides the same coin. You can’t have a trading game without good ways to trade.

The vocal minority always has the worst takes though.

I then immediately refuted it, as it’s merely an argument from jealousy. Sorry, it’s not a good argument, just a complaint.

Negating the premise of a ladder season being a fresh economy where nobody has an accumulated wealth advantage being “not a good argument” is asinine.

It’s still jealousy. It still doesn’t affect you. Get lucky or find a better way to trade. JSP is a better way to trade. Period. Your efforts over the years can pay off over time. It. Still. Doesn’t. Affect. You.

The ONLY thing JSP does to affect you is, as I said, to set more standardized market values on items that are regulated by supply and demand and adjust over time, which is actually a pretty good thing.

Performance enhancing drugs in professional football doesn’t affect me either.

I’ve already got my ladder Enigma ready to go.

Counting the days. Let’s do this! @d2jsp

Correct.
You’re also not a professional football player, are you?
But if you were, it sure would affect you.
An argument could even be made from folks betting on games. It affects those folks. No one is betting on people in this game, either.

The only argument I can think of that could possibly be made against D2JSP in terms of ladder is if getting the first Level 99 in the world is really important to you. So far, that’s the only one that I can see making sense.

Since ONE person out of the several million that play this can be the VERY FIRST level 99, MOST people won’t get bent out of shape over it. However, if it’s that important to you, nothing at all is stopping you from getting on D2JSP right now and saving up.

I gave up d2jsp years ago. I hate the FG concept, due to it being tied to money.

I use this forum for trading now: diablo2 io

It isn’t needed. Never was. It was made for $ to be made and should be gone because of that. If anything they could put a new form of currency within game to make trading simpler and not connected to real $ in any way. But lazy people with high hopes have having things will always try to find a way to bypass work.

Way to completely and utterly miss the point:

Whether something directly affects you or not is irrelevant to whether or not an opinion about it is valid.

Performance enhancers in football don’t affect me personally since I am not a professional football player, but they nevertheless negatively impact the integrity of the game.

((D2jsp does have a direct affect on all online players, by the way, but again… irrelevant))

With this guy, because I got Ber and Lo first week of d2r. Needless to say I’m good for a few seasons. For those of you who don’t like jsp, dont join my chaos or baals, or ask for rushes.

Wait. I think we are using different definitions of personal loot. I thought it was just that each person in a game would drop their own loot. Loot would still be tradeable. Basically how loot is in Path of Exile if you have it set to “Permanent Allocation”

Smart Loot is the worst thing that has ever appeared in an ARPG

It’s not needed, but it’s a QOL thing, of course it was partially made to make money… also was made as a community hub. You really overestimate the amount of people dropping dollars to get gear… it’s about convenience, if people are willing to drop dollars… good for them, with or without jsp… people will drop dollars for gear, don’t delude yourself.

Also D2 shouldn’t ever feel like work… maybe if they made the drop rates better, maybe you’d see less reason for trade sites and rmt sites.

jsp is the only thing that kept diablo alive for years at this point.

You have a strange definition of “alive”.
