Could we please get rid of immunes?

So much this lol. Sooooo many games out there with the exact same mechanics people beg for on here over and over and over. Boggles my mind why they want to change everything unique in various games like D2 to be the same homogenized crap of all those other games they aren’t playing have.

I Use a lit sorc with 1 point in orb can solo everything with no issues what few things that are immnue to cold and lit my merc handles with no issues and i dont use infinty ever only insight with andy and stone/fort on merc ive also used orb/blizz sorc with 1 point in each lit and works all same no reason why you cannot kill immnues.

I too sometimes get frustrated at it. But it is what it is - it will not change, I tend to run dual specs on most my toons.

I kinda hope they have immunities in D4 but in a more thoughtful approach.
Hard games are challenging - easy games are boring…

dude i literally rush hell in 15-20 minutes as full cold sorc and farm every content. amas at least have phys damage… get some gear.

Not this again, no we dont want to get rid of immunes.

Infinity needs to not be the only answer though.
It’s extremely expensive. So much so that only very serious players will ever obtain one.

As it should be… Its literally game changing, it should not be as easy as opening up a box of cereal here…

There are some things to do without MFing hotspots, javazon in cows can clear very fast density/speed clear = most HR drops ,but primarily the less MF you have in cows the better, in the sense the better your chance for getting elite end game runeword bases which don’t roll magic or rare…which you can sell easily for any loot you need. Also key farming , i think javazon can do arcane sanctuary for the deadend chests which have about 12 chests +summoner for chance at key. Selling bases/HR/Keys is actually better then trading items in some cases…again all RnG though…but yes…Sorc has always been the best initial class to play for the start of playing a fresh ladder in terms of speed to hell act V, that will never change. Telport OP…does being limited to what builds you can play in hell end game to kill “everything and anything” where others can only kill 1 or 2 areas encourage cookie cutter builds and lack variety…yeah…no doubt there you are right…hopefully they fix that in d4.

tell me you’re new without telling me you’re new LOL

a pally with level 24 conviction break all immunities

@TakeNotes, almost all characters can kill any monster in the game, it just takes a bit. You have to adapt your trained skills to it. Take in example the Necro, he can kill any immune, either by skells, bone or poison. And the same works for other characters as well.

If the game is not quick enough for you, my apologies, yet if you want to really play this game, its not so much about speed…like the Llama etc fellowship, its about balanced skills. As alternative, join groups. However, I presume you play alone and some monsters seem unkillable. Yet you or your merc can kill them… There are many pages online that guide you through it. Check it out. (Oh and do not look at the ladder, thats for the real noobs!!)

Then this core feature needs to change if the game wants a future.

u dont even undestand how infinity works, that -X% lightning only works if you have the weapon equiped, the reason why infinity is broken for mercs is because the conviction lvl and affects not just lightning but also fire and cold, stop crying about something that you dont like or dont undestand

Every class has at least two damage types in a end-game farmable format.
Jav’s have Poison Lightning (Charged Striked with Plague works fine) or can go Phys + either, Bows have Fire/Cold, or Phys + either.
Barb has Phys + Magic.
Pally is broken and can do anything with a variety of builds.
Necro has several ways to go (poison phys, or phys + mages, fire from CE, etc)
Sorcs can easily hybrid. Firewall and Orb are both usable hybrid skills, and nova seems to be their answer to make lightning hybridable.
Druids have Fire/Phys or Cold Phys.
Assassins have no issue getting a multitude of damage types.

If you go single element sorc and can’t figure out that you need to adjust or farm specific areas, then you’re misunderstanding the game. Tradeoffs make games interesting. Go ruin a different game.

In my opinion it is reverse. “Going hybrid” is the normal route. “Specializing” is sacrificing flexibility in favor of higher power level. Just as it should be.

This dilemma is anyway only present for overpowered characters (sorc, lightning amazon). Your suggestion is basically to buff those overpowered specialized builds even more. And when you “go hybrid” your power level is much more comparable to other characters.

(and don’t bring up hammerdin… it’s a completely separate issue)

22 years later…

Yup still here.

You’d think people would be just a “little” ashamed at all the “the game is going to die unless this is changed” posts by now. They’ve been spamming it for literal decades.

Absolutely false. Immunes were rare until 1.1 and the synergy patch was RUSHED OUT by the only guy left on the D2 team.

2004 Someone crying about immunes.

2022 I’m still playing D2.

2040 I’ll still probably be playing D2.

Like I said; there will always be people like you who put their fingers in their ears and pretend to not hear the music. This game hasn’t had a future for a long time.
