Could not join the game

Yestarday I was playing Diablo II when suddenly my PC got restarted and i launch the game again i did click in Play, the screen got black with this words “Could not join the game” and the game send me back to the lobby and i am not playing Online, i am playing a Local game.

Hi guys, I was able to solve this issue for my offline character. Try this:

[SOLVED] "Failed to join game" for offline character after crash

Whilst playing in game, my PC crashed (likely caused by the game itself, however irrelevant). Upon restart, I fired up the game again, and tried to play as that same offline character, and I’m faced with the error “Failed to join game”. Restarting the game does not solve this problem. As someone who has commercial software testing experience I find this absolutely appalling that a AAA game company would release a game without running a test case on restoring the game after a software or hardwar…

Also I recommend that you take frequent backups of the game saved folder, as the game can really crash at any time and cause issues like this.
