We need then Lazarus too
That’s even more iconic then the butcher
Make Anya in Act 5 sell druid helms.
You can buy staffs for sorc, wands for necro, maces for pala, claws for assassin, but you cant get helms for druid.
I would like to see change in Crafting items :
- adding more weapon choices (Bows for example) or dropping everywhere Item requirement , as long as other requirements are fulfilled
- leave Etheral items being that way (same way Charsie imbues Etheral items)
+1 Great Work …pls blizz read this post.
I would have added more changes for unique and set items since most of them are trash, needs an upgrade
And finally, the endgame of the game is non-existent it needs something that encourages people to play it, the current race to lvl 99 is broken with the current system of being able to skip ancients and people who only join games to kill Diablo rinse and repeat, no it is an achievement, it isnt a challenge
Yes, I agree with all you mentioned! Very nice!
Currency tab and a few more shared tabs. This will eliminate the need for mules. Also, up to 100 (or unlimited) character slots!
Well done mate. Love the effort and detail, shows you really thought about things and care to make improvements. Shows Blizzard how passionate people are about this game.
I would have to say I wouldn’t mind most of these if not all. Nothing too crazy and really just improvements for modern gaming.
My only adds or mentions would be:
- Increase main bosses difficulty to kill. Andy, Meph…these guys are too easy to kill with Runewords. All could use a buff. They are bosses, make them such!
- I’d like to see min/max stats on items by pressing a button. Basically, highlight an item, press X and you see all stats that have ranges.
- In-game trading platform. Like many people say, it’s really bad now. We are forced to use 3rd party sites! Doesn’t make sense. Trading in D2 is the biggest reason for me playing this game and especially online. It’s why I don’t play D3, because there everything is account based.
- Bot control or at least a noticeable effort to keep the game honest. I know this is a big topic but we need to do something about these guys. Suspensions, etc.
- Ladder awards and recognition - give guys the opportunity to win something for their dedication
- In-game clans and area to be with your team
- My favorite, increase unique item stats so the game is not dominated by Runewords and typical builds. Every caster has Hoto, Enigma, Spirit. Beef up the current uniques to allow more usage and build styles. There are so many awesome items that were created that people just can’t use to stay relevant. I would love to use so many items but Runewords just are SO much better.
Thanks, great ideas as well!
This could be problematic. In my opinion, act bosses should always be able to drop items, and even more so if they carry a quest item.
I’d appreciate if Duriel’s treasure class could be fixed.
Many unique items do indeed need a buff. It would make sense for native elite uniques to be stronger than exceptional uniques (e.g., Arreat’s Face shouldn’t clearly outperform most elite Barbarian helmets), especially considering exceptional uniques drop more frequently and can even be upgraded to elite. Extremely rare uniques like Mang Song’s, Tyraels, etc., should get a decent buff, but I disagree with the CoA buff you mentioned. One could also nerf exceptionally (or even better: elitistly) strong exceptional uniques accordingly.
Regarding general buffs for uniques (of all levels), one could get creative. Why not grant some truly unique effects that fit thematically, like for example skills of act bosses, e.g., Baal’s Festering Appendages, Diablo’s Nova, Andariel’s Poison, etc. They could come as a chance to cast or oskill or similar. One could also invent new unique skills, as was the case with Delirium.
Additionally, how about increasing the strength of most chance to cast effects on affixes and uniques? Especially those that are cast when struck and supposed to simply deal damage, e.g., a Nova that is cast when struck should severely damage (or even kill) normal monsters with a level close to the affix level.
And there’s one little thing that still bothers me: It has always seemed strange to me that monsters don’t have any block sound at all. Surely that shouldn’t be too difficult to add.
I never knew all those enemies were in the game and never used anywhere. Some of them look pretty cool.
Yeah, most of that sounds good. More than 20 character slots and the lobby fixes
Mephisto would be pretty scary if he could teleport to you when you got out of range or try’d to moth trick him.
I think its time for Blizzard to finally fix the moat bug for Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred. We should not be able to kill a prime evil with impunity with any ranged class. Meanwhile, melee, which are already very difficult to play, can’t use this exploit.
intresseting ideas for Act 4 =) we are maney players from 2000 who thought that act 4 should increased more content =)). I played Diablo2 senese release.
I would love to see a new optional zone “The Black Tower” added to the City of the Damned area in Act 4. Act 4 is the shortest in the game with three quests and no optional zones. The map tileset would be similar to the beauitful Pandemonium Fortress.
I think the developers could wait and see the impact of adding a currency tab before making the decision for adding additional character slots… seems like a natural progression.
Firstly, I think your “currency tab” idea sucks. Just add more stash space (more tabs) and be done. Why would you suggest half-measures which are also very costly to implement? There is no code provision to stack gems, runes or whatever, currently. But there is code to cater for shared stash tabs (3). Just give us more tabs, should be dead easy to implement and we will not be limited to runes/gems only. We will be able to store anything we like. Why would you suggest an expensive to implement feature which does not let me store extra gear? It’s madness.
Secondly, why would you possibly discourage the devs from adding extra character slots? Why do you assume that characters are used only as mules and your “currency tab” idea will alleviate the need for mules? Players genuinely want extra characters to play with, not to mule. I would propose a limit of at least 50 characters and even that is completely contrived number, there should be no limit, each character takes what, a few hundred bytes of storage?
The community at large is requesting a currency tab (can’t take credit) and is a great way to improve inventory management across the board. This feature is not a half-measure, but an elegant solution. Also, I’m not discouraging the developers from adding additional character slots (personally would like to see it doubled to atleast 40), but seems adding a currency tab would be a logical progression from a development standpoint.
Completely unsubstantiated statement. From a development standpoint the lowest hanging fruit is to add more tabs in the stash, and to add more character slots, if the code is written properly it will be a single, one constant source code change, eg “#define MAX_STASH_TABS 10” and “#define MAX_HERO_SLOTS 100”.
Anything else, including this “by popular demand” currency tab, would require serious development effort, allow runes and gems to be stacked etc
This “logical progression” is only in your head.
why not?

Usually when you see topics like this you start laughing, crying or both.
This one is actually pretty good.
Can’t agree on everything, but had only a few real alarmbell moments.
The three 1.10 items do indeed al need nerf (or reworks) before adding, those sockets are simply to power in items with already interesting stats and those boots is just far to good (although I want those )
Tyrael’s Might was one of the alarmbells, the proposed version would be insanely strong, with 2 skills it would be very strong, with 3 already to strong imo, but then adding a 99 to 103 Fire, Cold and Lightning would just take it way to far.
It would be to strong on a character imo, but than you remember having a merc near can actually cancel the penalty for playing on Hell.
Crown of Ages is already is a strong contender for multiple builds, adding 30% CB would be to much.
Grandfather and 3os would be to much, while I would really love to see The Grandfather, Schaeffers and the like to become great weapon, getting a 3os eth GF would put even Grief to shame.
Basher probably to strong as well, however it would not be able to 12,5aps WW like the new GF would, so won’t pas final judgement on this, but 3os is very strong on an item.
Myth think 4 to WC’s to strong and 2 would still see this item used mostly as a prebuff item, the idea I like however and changing Warcries into War Cry while adding a something like 1 Mana per clvl would make this a pretty nice niche armour.
Venom I think needs more buffs, I would would put this as an even worse runeword then the current version of Myth, atleast Myth is low level and can be the best you have at that level (ssf), can’t really believe that that by the time you reach the level for a Mal you didn’t find anything better, I mean you passed many shops by then.
Act 5 Barb with Axes would probably be to strong tbh, unless they nerf it again.
Duriel Charge…also gave alarmbells, but not a bad move, just remembering why I took me a long time to shake the feeling of dread when nearing his lair.
The rest I think I can live with or even like allot.
Always would like to see the butcher back in town, as long as we get the D1 version of it, in D3 it lost all dread, I want the only thing that scared me more than Duriel
Love the idea of Crescent Moon on claws as well, we need more melee claw options for assassins.
Set changes think all of them could use some more (well TO just needs a fix), especially Heaven’s Brethren which would be a throw away even with those adds, its simply to bad to be even considered with a huge buff and its not a low level set so could use some loving.
All in all, nice post to read and many good ideas.
gf cant be eth
and i totally desagree…if its rarer, it needs to be better
the same way lastwish needs to be better than grief and so on
TyM needs to be the best overall armor in the game
