Complete guide to runes and runewords

I searched on the Internet and this guide is great for newbies who have no clue about Diablo II runes and runewords.

Here’s one that’s been around for ages:
The Arreat Summit

It’s been cantankerous lately, so it may not load. BLIZZARD FIX ARREAT SUMMIT PLEASE! :stuck_out_tongue:

I am not a fan of nerfing - I prefer buffing weaker stuff to compensate.

But Grief is one problematic runeword. I’m even perfectly fine with Enigma.

Grief needs a minor nerf. It’s ridiculous that you can spend so much time and find a Eth Rare Zerker with massive ED + self repair + sockets + fool’s mod, but you end up still losing to a Lo rune and a 5 socket Phase blade. Where’s the reward is finding something valuable and rare?

isn’t the summit fan made? I always thought so.

The Arreat Summit - Credits

ohh alright, learn something new every day.

The Arreat Summit is still running on non secure http, it could use a facelift as well. I feel like I’m using Netscape Navigator when browsing the site. I suppose that can all be done once the team zeroes in on what the finalized versions of the items/classes will look like. It needs some TLC to endure another 20 years.

Oh yea, definitely, it has that early 2000 website design look down to a tee lol

The arreat summit was (and still is) an incredible source of viable information (because official) with all details, numbers and precise formulas to perfectly understand how things work.

I’ve rarely (maybe never) found anything like that in modern days RPGs or games in general. Today it’s usually fan made, mostly incomplete (except for highly popular games) and don’t usually give internal information like the exact formulas, unless they’re simple enough to be deducted by observation.

If you speak some spanish, use this one, I prefer it to arreat summit

I think this falls quite a bit short of the title. Complete guide, it is not. Doesn’t go into treasure classes, chances of each rune in different areas, how they’re numerically generated after the TC is rolled, etc.

Still though, thanks for the contribution, definitely good for newer players.

I always thought rune words were a fun meta game within a game, but they are far too powerful imo. Game was better before them.

Try this one out. Even more info than those…www.purediablo.com/
