It’s still happening day after release. Both online characters created on release gone.
My character won’t load either.

Almost same.
I kicked out game select online character but, there is no character.
My character reappeared. I was locked out of joining and creating games for about an hour. Hope those that had theirs disappears, comes back
now my character is back after restarting 100 times
Possible solution:
I had the same problem. I tried logging in and out of the game and BNet and none of that helped. I did a “Check for Updates” and a “Scan and Repair” and after doing that it loaded my characters. It could just be coincidence, but give it a shot and see if it helps you.
i switched to a different region. then logged in my toons were back. then i switched back. hope this helps!

Repair game and it works. I had to do it two times then it worked.
This wont solve anything for me.

Take this game offline you halfbrain chimpanzees. 24 hours of the same issue proves you have no idea what your doing or no interest in doing it. Shut it off until it’s fixed you apes
My Pala lvl almost 18 is lost but i can create other characters and see things i found and take to my shared box. It sucks! I want him back

Offline character is gone
Same happened to me I created a paladin played up to Act2 had to log out and no my paladin is gone.
