My understanding is that they won’t always be making new runewords for ladder. It’s just that if they do introduce new runewords, those runewords will be available in ladder first, and then everywhere when the ladder is reset again.
That is incorrect, unless you can provide an updated source. They clearly said ONLY single player would get the updated runewords following Season 1.
I take it you did not read thru the posts above. I remember hearing it during the dev video. TheDarkJedi did the work by googling the video and transcribing the text from the video: Can we have new 2.4 runewords in non ladder? - #12 by TheDarkJedi-1970
I take it you did not watch that video? I did… they clearly state “Single Player” will be getting them post Season 1. Nothing about Non-Ladder Online.
Which is why I asked for an updated source, I guess their isnt one and its an incorrect assumption.
Nice try listen closely at 7:00-7:20. English may not be your 1st language, and I am not trying to give you a hard time, but the dev is choosing his words carefully and he outright says non ladder and single player get to MAKE those runewords.
He chose them too carefully. You are hearing what you want to hear, I heard babble that may or may not be the idea the runewords will be able to be made in SP and NL, and that the next Ladder gets more Ladder only runewords.
So…just play ladder? Some ppl are not interested in ladder so they don’t play it.
If you don’t mind the reset and you’re interested in it, just play ladder…
If they wouldn’t play ladder because wouldn’t have exclusives, so don’t play ladder. Why we should be forced to play ladder to get new content?.
“Fresh economy” with 2000 ppl each with 50k FG. I never heard a worst argument
Yes, just wait 4 months for the ladder to end, then the new runewords are available for all playstyles.
They have to make all RWs available off-ladder because you can’t create more than a certain number of chars per account. If you had to get on ladder to make certain runewords, most accounts would have tons of semi-leveled pvm chars after a few seasons. If you didn’t let ppl make runewords off ladder, you would have to start deleting chars after a while, which would be because of bad game design.
Agreed.

At the end of every ladder season all ladder characters get converted to non-ladder, that’s the only way you’ll get ladder exclusives on non-ladder.
Sooo you want to be rewarded just for playing? You’re the worst type of gamer.
There isn’t really a true economy reset when JSP users spend their FG when ladder starts. Fully geared before the first month ends.
Ladder is an antiquated game mode. It can not exist solely and must be in an event or season which provides greater features and rewards.
People played D3 ladder for the exact same reason…fresh start and economy. Trading sites and their currency had nothing to do with the push for d3 resets and they aren’t the reason in D2R that people want ladder seasons with new exclusive gear. Hop off that tired excuse. No one is forcing you onto ladder. Don’t like it, don’t game it…these crybabies never end…
You can reference my above comment.
Why would I? I mean, no one is arguing that people ladder for access to exclusive rune-words/gear. It’s the “starting from scratch” and “fresh economy” remarks that justifiably draw some ire, as they are a farce due to bots and RMTs.
Actually that is totally wrong for many D3 players. I play to get the journey rewards and couldn’t give a rats azz about ladder or the economy. If your main focus is on ladder and economy, play PoE for real. Btw, who else is crying besides you?
And it is totally accurate for many other D3 players. So you played the ladder season in D3 in order to obtain ladder only rewards you couldn’t get anywhere else? Go figure…“Who else is crying besides you.” I swear, forums, no matter for what, are filled with ignorant clowns like you who get butt hurt the moment someone says something they don’t like. What’s next, gonna come in with the your mom insult to put the icing on the cake? Go sit in a corner somewhere.
