Right now you have 2 options when creating build :
-
You can specialize in single element to maximize damage at the cost of not be able clear some areas.
-
You can do build with 2 elements to be able clears all areas at the cost of damage of both elements.
AFTER THIS PTR WITH SUNDERED CHARMS you got only one option.
Game is simplier. Unified. Like Diablo 3.
Is that correct or i am missing something?

People still need to get the charm first and hybrid builds were pretty bad since the introduction of synergies anyways.

I love frozen orb/fireball build, and I’ll play it.
After I clear the game and get the charm, I’ll probably switch to one element. Or not. Anyways, dual sorc will be great for playing through the game

Cold Sorc only here. There is not a single reason to play dual build now. Cold Only sorc will be the absolute king.

Was it not already up until you got infinity for lightning?

They should maybe just add one more charm specifically for multi-dmg builds.
How about something like “after dealing dmg with one dmg type, your next skill of a different dmg type deals X more dmg, based on how much dmg the first skill dealt”.
The reason for the added complexity of depending on the dmg of the first skill of course is so you dont just use a weak lvl 1 skill to buff a main dmg skill.
(note; the dmg boost should ignore resistance for its calculation, as in, if you throw a fireball at a fire immune monster, you still get the full dmg boost from the fireball, for your next frozen orb, even though the fireball did no dmg)
You no longer need infinity with cold sorc, it’s broken

with a level requirement of 75 I don’t think its going to really eliminate hybrid builds till end game where to be honest most people respect to lightning builds after getting thier infinity this just makes it so they wont necessarily do it to lightning.

You never needed it for the cold sorc. For lightning sure, but you don’t even need it anymore either. It will make you more efficient on a light character still though.

I meant with the new cold sorc you no longer even need infinity. Wrong wording
Hybrid builds will still be a thing until we can get the Sunder charms…

Personally I just probably won’t even use the charms same as I don’t use Infinity or Enigma. I prefer my D2 experience with some small semblance of challenge rather than ultra being ultra godmode.

thats awesome seeing someone who plays thier way. I wish more people were like this.
I personally believe a games difficulty should be more in the players control. If i want more challenge i just dont make is powerful a character not tell someone else they can’t play a powerful character.

Exactly, right? Like those comments who complain that “people just want things handed to them” and then they say they want the game to be harder. Well what’s stopping them from making the game harder on their own? (not using certain gear, skills, etc.)

No you didn’t miss anything. There is now no point to rolling anything other than a cold sorc to stack out. Then there is no motivation to log in anymore because there’s nothing else to do. Where as before you would continue to log in to farm other gear for other classes so you could farm other areas. GG that.

Yep, content is no longer hard gated for all characters, you can actually play what you like and not be forced to roll an entire char for a different area of the game.
You are technically free to play whatever you want now however you want it, you control your enjoyment and difficulty … but … hell knows how easy it is to get those charms.
I don’t know, I have yet to have a Lightning Sorc GC drop, and now my Fire and Cold GCs will be worthwhile.
Has it occurred to you that these charms may not drop in the element of your preferred build?
Are you concerned that it’ll be “easy” for you or for other people? (the latter implying that you are selling items and afraid to lose money)
Hybrid until you get the charm basically… Then the builds are endless!

Ikr, let’s make it so you can switch builds in between zones too, amirite? Accessible for all to farm gear that they don’t need for anything! Genius!
We know nothing about the drop rate yet except it will only be a TZ drop, did it mean it can drop from a normal difficulty TZ, NM, or only Hell?? And what will be the drop rate? If you need a full week of 10hr a day of farming to get one, Hybrid is still the way to go, if it drops on the first TZ you do in normal… well it will be the end of the hybrid and plenty other build. It will impact the game for sure, but how much? It will depend of the drop rate.
