Old IAS as in Classic where WW was always a fixed FPA, or Old IAS as in Patch 1.13 in Legacy D2, only WIAS matters, etc.?
I don’t like how the current D2R situation makes 2H even worse, or that chill/decrep now makes WW worse when it used to actually be a benefit, but being able to take advantage of IAS from other sources does seem like it opens up a few more options for WW, so I’m thinking it can work if they make some other changes to address what I mentioned above.

Yeah lower ias required for lower frames would be fantastic to start. There is currently limited gear/jewel options right now.
2 handers got the major short end of the stick.

Current calculation for ias is better (total ias instead of wias) they just need to fix 2 handers for ww. 1 handers work great, can finally use death and last wish at full speed for cb with the new calculations.

Yeah it does seem like it opened up a lot of cool options on the 1H side. Since melee was already behind I’m not sure the fact that chill and decrep now effect WW attack speed was needed though, and I am curious if it was intentional or not. You could argue that the extra power from running things like death and last wish in a CB is enough that having to stack IAS elsewhere to counteract decrep and slot in CBF is a reasonable trade off. Given where melee characters/builds are I’m just not sure it was needed though.

WW def need a little bump, and immunity to decrep or any kind of slow would be very nice. Faith merc works well around this problem but it’s not ideal, have to use enigma to reposition, and overall expensive for an issue that shouldn’t be. Another way around this would be butter knives phaseb but they look weird for barb to use.

1 handed weapons suck with a shield, period. If you use a shield, you are required to use 20ias gloves, highlords, and a 15 ias jewel to get max frames. That is with BOTDZ. Unless you wear Beast or want to limit your range with a PB. BOTDZ is useless, Death 100% useless, Doom useless, Last Wish useless. Basically every weapon in the game requires you to wear IAS gloves, Highlords, and a 15 ias jewel. You have ZERO options if you wear a shield and anything besides a Phase Blade. You either use those, or you don’t hit max frames.
The old system was BETTER, in almost every way, aside from DEATH and LAST WISH. So you limit other options, more options, with the new changes.
Maybe a middle ground can be granted, speed up the ias and require less ias on gear so more gear options are available.
mate ebotdz needs 75 ias for conc for max speed, or 63 ias for whirlwind. I use it in pvp with stormshield lol. that means the weapon + highlords is all neeeded for ias.
Death and lastwish zerk - total 63 for whirlwind - 20 gloves, 20 ammy, 15 helm + 10 belt. this is harder to reach but not useless. Also in this case I don’t know why would you use a shield in pvm, these weapons are banned in pvp
Or use them with fana merc (if you can afford these you can afford faith too).
I feel it’s better have all 1handers doable then just ones with ias on weapon (especially when talking about op ones like death). to each their own tho.

Sorry meant grief…Zerk, Nobody uses EBOTDZ in duels. Point still stands, more IAS from gear is required to get the right frames. It used to be 37 ias Grief Zerk for max frames.

It’s harder with all weapons, can’t wear angelics with rends without gimping ar with botdz. 40ed 15 ias in helm or shield and cham the other, now you have to wear some crappy crafted ias gloves or highlords. Can’t wear an eth arreats anymore without screwing something up. The only safe place would be bvb as cold damage generally isn’t allowed. But I want grief and rends and eth arreats and stuff I used to be able to wear. The new ias changes suck.
Even worse with grief for pvp as I already explained. They keep messing with the mechanics. Druid too,I have zero interest in shape shifting now with the ias changes.

I agree when using ebotdz and angelics, you need to use 15 ias /ed jewel in arreats or other helm to reach bp if cold damage is done to you. Gm melee and bvb rarely has elemental damage involved tho.
When my oponents has cold dmg from raven I use chamed SS and ias helm. if not using cold dmg, stormshield with 15ias/ed jewel and eth arreats
There are ways to counteract any problem,
By the way Fury druids wreck in melee, a fury druid was runner up in the tourney last time. wrecked me bad

But we didn’t need it to be that way. Whirlwind was just 1 of those skills that had to be a wias type skill. Shapeshifter Druid’s are a whole different ball game.
How exactly u gona use death with last wish??? Only with fanta merc whoes,constantly running away from u… And u still need 20+ ias. Don’t mantion how u gonna calculate 10% slow from arach that everyone wears? So with shield even your all os full with ias u are not in max bp

as for fury dunno much, ask Dhrolie on discord in melee, he kicked our assess with a fury druid in last tourney
Mate I dont play pvp pub games, my experience is based on gm melee pvp in closed groups (where arachs is banned along with everything that slows)
as for pvm play with grief/death and last wish, yes you need fana merc and enigma. but that is ok by me. here’s a vid, 1:50 chaos clear

, sword is only 16.6% of the barbarian weapon mastery , play a spear or pole arm , tmaul . a big 2 hand axe , there you will show us something , sadly i douth because is not working

Charley my old bud, I have grief’s dont worry, and I tried every runeword for swords, it’s just that last wish was in discussion here. I’m planning plague - grief/lw/death builds soon for cb’s.

Also, I repeat, I agree that 2 handers suck and need fixing, start reading before assuming.
Btw if you’d like a friendly sport, I am up for a contest full chaos clear, fastest build wins. We can even have a friendly wager, say 2-3 bers, you can then use your pb’s griefs and show me how fast they are

i have 0 interet starting to make a pissing countest finding a game with more or less monster to min max a run speed to a game i just dont enjoy playing it , i already post a video a dual grief build run and im happy with the clear speed for my 2 xtime LO , on your side if you want to make 100 run too find your best time , im happy for you , you still enjoy this , on my side i enjoy 2 hander barb and you are agree they are garbage ,
