Blizzard Sorc Now Sits on the Iron Throne

I highly disagree. In fact, there’s an amazing video by MacroBioBoi that just broke it down incredibly well.

TL:DW = Fire and Light sorcs get a much greater damage buff than the cold sorc.

Whats the alternative? Keep the game exactly the same with everything outside like 4 builds being b tier with 10 hr investment. Least the devs are trying to make changes…

We don’t have a big missing piece though. How do you get these charms? Are they literally charms or is this a way to test infinity changes to break all immunes?
If its a literal charm, and its not insane to get then absolutely your right. Cold sorc will be 99 percent of the players

Actually, lighting received the most benefit. Check out this video:

I hope not, opening up builds should be available to all characters, the sooner the better.

I don’t think that’s what people actually want though. People keep saying they want underutilized skills buffed but all we are seeing is stat creep.

Rather, don’t have the Sunder charms reduce Immunes to 95% resistance. Instead just have them remove the Immunity effect that makes resistances unbreakable and makes Conviction and Lower Resistance have 1/5th effectiveness.

That would instantly be balanced for Cold Mastery.

So basically, if you have a Cold Sunder charm and Cold Mastery at level 20 you get -115% Cold Resistance on all Monsters including Immune ones (which is enough to break any Cold Immunity in the game) but can still leave you with a Snow Drifter with 35% Cold Resistance, and a Frozen Abyss with 95% Cold Resistance.

Hence still reason to try and get your Cold Mastery even higher, but it gives diminishing returns since fewer and fewer monsters are effected by it as you push them down to -100% Resistance.

Similarly, if you have a Fire Sunder charm and are using say a Phoenix Shield, Flickering Flame, and 3 piece Tal Rasha’s set you’d have a max of -58% Fire Resistance, that gets applied to Fire Immune Monsters as well (without the 1/5 debuff) giving you the ability to break every Fire Immune in the game, but still leaving them with Fire Resistance. For example the Pit Lords in Hell level Abbadon usually have 145 Fire Resistance. With Sunder and your -58% Fire Resistance, that would become 87% Fire Resistance. However, most Fire Immune Monsters will be around 42% to 57% Fire Resistance.

This also benefits Paladin’s with Conviction and Necromancers with Lower Resist. Instead of breaking Immunities at the 1/5 effectiveness, with a Sunder charm of the right element you break Immunities with full effect. So a Paladin with a Lightning Sunder charm and max Conviction active applies -150% to Lightning Immune monsters. So that Pit Lord in Chaos Tristam which usually has 145 Lightning Resistance (and can’t be broken by Conviction) when facing off against a Conviction Paladin with a Lightning Sunder charm gets -5% Lightning Resistance.

Same thing for a Necromancer with max Lower Resist (-70%) and a Poison Sunder Charm. This means you cannot for example, break the Immunities of things like Catapults, Fire Towers, and other things that you really should not be able to poison. But you will be able to break the Poison Immunity of things like the Sand Maggot Queen (which currently without Sunder you cannot).

Cold build is the new king now. Guess I’ll play ice bowazon next season if there’s no further change in this feature.

sry dude i will be honest in my book your the worst influence for this game , asking all build to be broken and asking only power creep patch now you have what you crying for from so a long time in your video and the game will die

This is what I was saying earlier. Please watch this video, it’s incredibly insightful with numbers and examples. The cold sorc isn’t actually getting the buff you think.

  • Everyone can now farm hell with this charm without immunes, not just cold.
  • Infinity has a much larger impact for light and fire sorcs now, granting an overall higher net damage to these elements instead of cold, contrary to the noise here and on the forums.

I actually posted numerous concerns with the charms in my video today including some of the concerns that have been brought up on this forum. It’s not my fault you’re too thick headed to understand its PTR and values can be tweaked.

Yep, everyone are going nut with CM and sleep on fire. Fire skill always had crazy damage number but the fire immune was the hardest one to break.

3 to fire skills
-10 to 15 fire resist
Resist fire Aura

It’s like this helm was developed in anticipation of these charms…

You’re missing the point, is not Cold is the new king, is Cold sorc because the charm drop the monster to 95% and the Cold Mastery drop the resist more after… Your IceBowazon will depend on the gear to drop the resist after it drop at 95%

It’s always been too easy.
They making it worse.

Just tried it… like trap and minion, do not apply. Cast my hydra on the other edge a Chaos and nothing died, I have to use my Fireball so Hydra Build was a thing for only one update…

And Blizzard is known to really do something with PTR feedback?
Sorry, in the first couple of PTR’s many issues were noticed and reported, they still made it live.
And when WW change was announced many said this is a bad mechanic, it got in and yes it was bad.
The shapeshift, more people realized this will break many shapebuilds and complained, they did not care and ruined many shapers.
They already did the effort to program it, they have less then 3 weeks left before the ladder goes live, you really think this gets thrown, maybe a few tweaks (highly unlikely unless streamers start screaming, they don’t care about the normal player base) but even with tweaks this charm is offensive to many players.

I understand to you things work differently, the more things move in D2r the more vids you can make and that means more money.
Hence your view of things like this will be different from people playing the game solely for playing the game, to some of us little changes means playing the game we love without it becoming a different game (don’t fix what ain’t broken), to you little changes means nothing to make vids about and thus bad for bussiness.
The vid was a Hype vid, not a I have concerns vid.
You noted a few, possible concerns, but quickly noted don’t worry yet and this will be great.
Your message in you “concern” vid was, it is going to be an amazing update to the game.
And about the “drawback” which you called good so no mindless spamming of the charm.
Pushing a single element 75% higher requires almost no effort and the sacrifice will not even come close to the gain.
And fire build, Flickering Flame…Drawback?
Come on it can hardly be called a drawback.

While this new dump is not bad for everything (the Physical Charm would not be so horrible imo), the interaction with Conviction, Facets and Cold Mastery will make most builds face-roll everything.
To those that already thought the game was made to easy this is the final nail.

I personally dislike the Terror Zone idea, many people disliked it, so the reaction was…lets make something to force you to play Terror Zones because you really want it.
That’s how far they listen, they hear we don’t want this and think then we need you to do it anyway.
