Having exactly the same problem last night and got me killed twice. Very frustrating. I am gaming on Xbox Series X and offline mode. Seems like the game try to authenticate with the server and failed, so the game just blackout to prevent pirate copy maybe.
(1st Generation PS4, Always Offline Single Player). I’ve experienced the exact same issue; it only occurred after updating to 1.06. Thankfully, I was able to guesstimate the save and exit button location. Prior to 1.06, I’ve been booted to the blue error screen with a significant loss of progress. I’ve also noticed that if I complete a few areas in one sitting, the visuals and music start to stutter. I’ve been playing until I find the next waypoint, then I save, exit, and load the game again. I just updated to version 1.07, and I will try playing with the console disconnected from the internet and hope for the best.
This is true but now I’m running into character save issues (well both on and offline)
