Barbarian Warcry Needs Update

Making warcry always hit would not make it OP at all, especially considering that if the 2.4 fhr changes remain, it will still not stun-lock in pvp, you will just have a better chance to land a hit with miniscule damage. The damage is nowhere near comparable to other common attacks. When utilizing in pvp pre 2.4, it took quite a while to bring a player down while they were stun-locked; but you had the ability to actually bring them down because of the stun-lock. Even then it was still possible to break free if you had the right gear. It was a fun change of pace from the standard few cookie-cutter builds. It took 45+ warcry and 80 total points with synergies to bring the damage up to something usuable - Hardly an investment that should be treated like a transition mid-lvl build ( you cant build that at low / mid level )

I think the damage is good enough after the 2.4 buffs to WC and an indirect buff with Grim Ward reducing physical resistance.

Mana cost I initially wanted further reduced from 0.75 to 0.5 per level, but in retrospect I’m not so sure if it should be reduced further. I think it might be fine where it’s at.

I mainly just want War Cry to ignore blocking in PvM so that it’s more consistent, especially against targets with very high blocking like act bosses (40-55% block).

Grim Ward has to many flaw to really be good … The fear part really need to be removed, the other is that it doesn’t work on boss/Elite.

Never used grim-ward for additional damage when i used my singer. I used dual lacerator on swap with doubleswing to proc amp, and then switch back to warcry on mainhand. Would have been nice to just be able to proc amp with warcry considering it can be blocked, dodged, evaded, etc…

The stun from WC makes the fear a non-factor for the most part.

You stun a group and your merc helps poke down a monster then you make a Grim Ward from that corpse, then the rest of the group gets mowed down quickly while they’re stunned and unable to do anything.

The champs/uniques aren’t affected by GW yes, but again that’s where the merc comes in where you can use Lawbringer or Reaper’s Toll. You can even choose to use Lacerator yourself for Amp Damage.

That’s another thing I want in addition to War Cry being unblockable in PvM, is to make Grim Ward usable on all corpses. Currently some enemy corpses can’t be made into GWs (they have to be flagged as “soft” in the games text files) so it’s hard or impossible to use in certain areas like Chaos Sanctuary or Crypt/Mausoleum for example.

Have you ever played a Singer more than 2 second ? If you play without insight you won’t be able to run anything even with a belt full of mana potion, As i said in a post above… even with 2 x sojs/ Bo + insight i can run out of mana in a single travs pack. I know i wasn’t maxed yet but still was at 38 Bo … at this lvl and with 2200 mana i would expect to at least be able to kill something without running out of mana even with insight.

Meanwhile a fresh Hdin with lvl 20 hammer would probably kill them faster, with less mana.

Just about every caster can perma lock mobs into hit recovery…

There is a reason why hammerdins can sit in center of throne unscathed…
