I think they were unaware that AVX support was required.
It seems likely that they starting utilizing certain Nvidia APIs, unaware that these were relying on AVX to function.

i hope they will at least get us updated about if they can fix or not soon. If i canāt play this week end iāll refund and if i donāt have any update about it i will probably just not buy blizzard game in the futur. I did this to other company i can do it for more.
Bulk of D2 clientele are mostly older than average pc gamers, Amazing they wouldnāt put that into account. But yeah thats true, Most peoples Intel i7 older gens can probably run most games on max settings. But not this 20 year old game.

I ran it on max setting in Beta with the non avx engine. I am grumpy I have not got to play this week. I have refunded. I will of course upgrade and re-buy for the ladderā¦just frustrated with what seemed like a bait and switch.
