I want a shield that can get 4os that isnt a kite shield variant. why cant bone shields hit 4 sockets? they have 4 eye sockets…what the heck?
dont forget spiked shields too, those have 4 spots for a socket…this is silly nonsense to limit non paly to using monarch.
Yupp, one of the caster shields should roll whit 4os.

I am actually more tired of Spirit Monarch.
There are like 50 unique and set shields, and basically in PvM (except stormshield) are pure trash. Meanwhile, 4 low runes are able to be a GG item.
Personally would nerf spirit a lot, and buff many shields to be more on par.
Spirit is way too OP for the runes it has.
Change spirit in shields to BER / BER / LO / MAL, and you can have it in another shield.
Meanwhile I would completely nerf it.
well, as nurtured by blizz and their employees … over-buffed pallys get their spirit lower level, lower str req, and bigger variety … so much for their BS balancing issues.

sets still were conducive to gameplay
rares/and uniques were still competitive
then the employees buffed hammerdins and de-buffed every other class
then spirit came out for all, but hammerdins were given the edge yet again
then it all went to hell with enigma

So perhaps they should bump other shields that went the way of the dodo to compete in more specialized builds. Not like buff them to the point Spirit becomes a PITA, but like for Necos, you have options that hold up well for spec builds, like homunculus . I mean there are two shields based on each other in the game, from from before LOD, one after, both were top in the time, both shamed by Spirit, just bump them or change them. The point of so many vender trash is lost on me. Same issue with Greif, no need to nerf a great weapon, but they could make a few old BIS ones a tad stronger so every phy melee build in the game is not using the same rune worded phase blade. No power creep changes, just bump the old pre rune stuff a tad. There will always be meta but the divide should not be so wide.
Pallies do get the love on this one. I pick my exile for how it looks basically. I mean and max rolls and what not but do not think ascetics do not count, he carries his exile in basically highly detailed polyacrylate shield. Look so pimp on the in game.
you could try lidless + facett or head hunter’s glory with 3 facets. not sure if the -res is better or worse damage wise , you surely can compensate for the fcr though to get to 105. though that ugly bone shields arent really better looking than monarch
My Lite Sorc has 35k lite damage at 85 lvl and I give her as much life as possible.
what about replacing the stats on the useless elite set shield Taebaek’s Glory for spirit and delete the runeword?
Ya, lidless and eyeless are funny, and if your into to tribal mages, but they look more savage and less refined then necro shields. We mages or tribal witch doctors? So glad they made a staff, now if just finding that perfect base was not so freaking hard.
Just for fashion? not Primarilly, tho for fashion id jsut ignore a spirit and go witha trollnest rhym/splendor, or evena sexy 3 sock RW sheild.
if i was on a heaveymelee build thats was intending to breakc 200-300str, then i’d consider if teh reduced runspeed would be wortht eh use ofa Heavy sheild, but the Spirit mods dont support All melee builds other thana temp fill in point(fashion?).
now ive definitly invested extra str to wear certain elite armor bases.
one of my fav choiceses was going BONEWEAVE for my Dragon, as it jsut sounded cool rolling off the tongue.
