There are some that already exist, such as Nightwing’s Veil and Veil of Steel both of which are unique spired helms. I was thinking about adding new additions like these to other elite items. Are they good? Maybe, maybe not. I will probably add more in the future though because I think it would be cool to add extra additions like these into the loot pool.
Only problem would be adjusting rarity and where these items drop. To simply increase rarity, it would be intended to erase them (these additional elites) from loot pools for all bosses except Baal, Ilvl87 champion packs, and ilvl88 boss packs. Just like Tyrael’s Might and Mang Song’s.

No thanks… it’s super annoying to find the unique elite and be disappointed that it is the wrong one again. Also there is a unid market and I think it’s nice to have that
Agreed. I think you’re right for fixing all the old items, but I disagree about your opinion to not add new ones that are extremely hard to find. It makes farming 85 areas more fun imo and not only that but makes the chance of finding items that are not just extremely rare but also super useful a better experience, whereas most of the items you’re talking about are very common. Except for epic rare drops.
On the other hand items like the ones I posted or with those qlvls and treasure classes are probably better suited for harder/new content areas so it’s basically a pipe dream.
I think with the qlvl and Tc of the items I posted you’re not going to really have to worry about identifying the wrong one. Harlequin Crest and Stormshield become pretty common items mid season and the ones I posted are going to be a lot harder to come by. I don’t think you’d be disappointed to find either version, would you? And as far as trading Unid. There’s really nothing to hide for a stormshield and Harlequin crest besides their defense so who cares if they’re identified or not?
Agreed but I figure since those mods are under used anyways it would be nice to see them functioning instead of everyone always wearing the same old Damage reduce%. I agree though those numbers are a bit high. Oops.
That’s sort of the idea. I always thought jmod is a bit overrated. Only because of how rare they are, but when you get it, is it really worth what people use them for? I suppose that depends on the player. Anyways these are just fun ideas of things Blizz could do in the future but maybe with a bit less power.
I would be very disappointed if I am looking for one of them and get the other. And your new items have variable stats, but you can’t trade them unid because it could be just an SS or shako… don’t you see the problem? Or don’t you understand how loot is rolled?
I would prefer using other base items that don’t have a unique yet to get one than doubling down on those
I think instead of adding more unique items existing ones should be reworked to be truly unique by adding affixes not present on other items, like in these examples.
Although Archbishop’s Gimcrack looks really nice; however, I think more suitable base item for it should be tiara, or smth like that, not peasant-looking shako.
Abit of a stretch of an idea here that could may solve problems.
Im thinking they could add the rest of the items like unique clossul griddle, colossus sword, scarab husk, crusader gauntlets, etc etc.
Now here is where it could solve the problem for 95% of items being crap. Reason i say this is because of balance to the game so here is what i think. We should maybe have partial set bonuses like say unique hellforge armour paired with frostburns and serpahs hymn yields you xxxxxxx stats.
Or having certain items to get a partial set bonuses require you to upgrade the gorefoots or upgrade tarnhelm. I mean they could use a rare rune for better stats.
They could add another difficulty if the game gets easier. This way they could re-balance if need be. I know its a long shot and alot of work but i cant see many solutions other than slight buff to every unique out their.
Because you are starting with items which already have good unique version.
I will give you advice, there is plenty of items which dont have unique version like for example class specific items. Or some elite items too, or throwing weapons. Maybe even more unique charms or jewels would be fun.
Just pick few items like that and make some cool ideas, general rule is to not make items too good, but not too bad or boring also. Make them interesting, its important to have reason why to pick it and use it,but not to be so goodthat other itens around same lvl range would be too weak in comparison. Maybe its filling some gaps in items, improving not that used build, making item very desirable for upgrading, adding something which other similar items dont have…
I will give you example, unique crystal sword with some lighting stuff on it, maybe +% lightning dmg, usable for tesladin or act 3 lightning merc.
Uhh thx. I guess. These items I posted are a bit OP but that was my intention. Your idea sounds like a great one for your own thread though. Cheers dude!
