Why we are still forced to pump all skill points in these useless synergies and not enjoy skills we like. Low lvl skills are supposed to be bad and for low lvl, why not allow to build more complex builds with synergies based on +skills from gear, eg Din 20Hamm 20Conc synergies from gear, rest in FoH+HS/Smite_Zeal+Fana and etc., too specialized builds boring very fast, gameplay is too monotony, better if we have chance to use we like depends of the siuation eg. vs Immunes. Fake/pseudo choice is the core problem with synergie system Imo.
this game is already easy, why make players even more OP? The only semi challenge is P8 and thats not even really all that challenging
Synergies would be still capped to 20, difference is instead of pump all “free” skill points in synergies I could invest in other skills and maxing synergies by +skills from gear.
Hell should be buffed long time ago, game already is a joke so who cares.
D2R have fundamental core problems:
- too specialized builds due to bad implementation of synergies
- upowered melee due to not updated base dmg and bad ias/ed/ar on weapons
- progression and lvling above 9x
- Hell is a joke compared to first LoD patches, thx to synergies and 1.10+ rw’s.
It’s always been a joke. Let’s not forget you could hit 99 just doing cows. 1.09 was honestly one of the easiest patches.
Ideally synergy system would be reworked to allow choice of synergy and a greater build diversity
A synergy system based on skill affinities would solve so many issue brought by the horribly lazy 1.10 synergy system
Taking your previously mentioned hammerdin build, since blessed hammers is a magic spell, then it would be able to synergies with other magic skills, holy bolt, sanctuary, foh…but teeth, bone spear, bone spirit, berserk, magic arrow, guided arrow and VIce versa
That would open up choice for synergy selection, widen build diversity, improve CTc, improve charges, improve oskills
See?? Game was ez and it was the best D2 patch, so who cares.
1.09 Hell Meph vs 1.10 NM Countess; Spirit + Lore + Stealth_Smoke + AP/Rhyme/Splendor + some rdm rares and game is super ez mode.
FoH and HB are Holy, not magic.
All they can is bandaid current system as some1 said, D2R is remaster with some qols, bug fixes and balance tweaks so dont expect anything except some tweaks.

The issue is thinking that you actually HAVE to max synergies.
You don’t
Just because you can doesn’t mean you actually need to.
Or just redo synergies? There shouldn’t be more than 60 points required to max out any skill in the game including supporting skills like Auras or Masteries.
