Hey there guys I was up late last night very tired and accidentally deleted my character. I’ve been around abouts reading that this is an issue multiple players are having as it seems all to easy to make this mistake. I’ve also seen that there doesn’t seem to be any recourse for the players that have spent many many hours already on these characters that have accidentally been deleted. Which is a huge bummer because unlike when I played D2 originally I’m now an adult with work and a busy life and I don’t have the time to just go and dump into releveling and gearing again. So while I am aware that it seems nothing will be done to assist me with this matter I wanted to just say something here anyways. Very disappointing situation I was having a overall good time and I will likely not continue playing now. If I at all thought I would be offered a refund for the game I would request it.
I and probably thousands of others feel your pain.
Ya it’s just a bummer is all man. I realize it’s mostly my fault for deleting my character but you’d think they at least be a little bit lenient on the situation and restore characters since the game did just launch and people are getting used to the ui layout and all that. Especially since so many people are having the issue. I cannot in my brain imagine that there is not backups stored. blizzard has been around the block more then once user errors like this happen on games all the time you’d think they have a way of fixing them.
Happened to me friday night too, stayed up late grinding and hit the x thinking it was to close game.
Was depressed about it, but got back on the horse and releveled a sorc , last night.
RIP DevSolSorc lvl 89 Your Deeds Of Valor shall be remembered
This is not a matter of policy. They literally don’t have the logs and tools to do it. Those were not part of D2, nor D2R.
I am doubtful weather they have tools or not because, the obviously rewrote the database side of the game for battle.net
But i understand why they wont restore any, huge human resources load and possibility for people to exploit for dupes and all sorts of other shenanigans.
