Yesterday I started playing after the servers were fixed and had gone all the way through act 1, and equipped myself with some decent gear including a gull dagger I found on another character a week ago. I just logged on and the character is missing!, if it was rolled back I expected the items I had equipped him with to be back, but they are missing too! How can I get my character back?

Same for me. My barbarian character named “Merrick” is not playable since today in the Online mod of the game.
My two other characters are still present and I’m sure I didn’t delete my barbarian, since I couldn’t play lately because of server issues.
same for me ! i came back from work and i was not able to play due to servers issue. When it was fixed i connect and found out that my main character was gone ! lvl 88 sorceress with shako, oculus, viper, skulder, spirit shield and sword, alibaba, traveler, change guard, tal amu, tal belt, tal helm, tal wand, andariel face, infinity and many other good stuff !
its unacceptable ! so many hours of gaming for nothing ! all gone due to blizzard mistake and they cant fix it to get back our character its a shame ! i am playing diablo since the first game… i am so disappointed !

Well with any luck you’ll get it back from a server rollback or something… However if it’s still gone after the dust settles… then it’s most likely gone gone… Here is what blizz told me about missing characters & items.
This is extremely disheartening, especially since I know they have the ability to bring characters back, they just don’t want to set the precedent. Ill just consider myself lucky i didnt lose a high end character
