Have tried all suggestion in [Blizzard Support - Diablo II (2000) Error: Unable to Identify Version (battle.net)], still fail to overcome the issue when log in.
Don’t know what happened to my pc. It used to work on d2 lod.
Fresh installed D2 and D2Lod from installer, cdkey OK, updated all drivers of hardware and updated Window 10 64bit version, created new account to try but failed.
need help.
One common way to fix it is make sure the game is patched to version 1.14d. The downloaders will install a previous version of 1.14b.

That error can be for a few reasons. The most common is missing the latest version of the game. Considering what you list being done, the next thing to try is just connecting to another region. Try using the Asian region or US West or even Europe. If that works, try switching back to your normal area to see if that helps. Should there still be a problem, please submit a ticket and include system information files along with a summary of what was done so a Game Master can check into the situation deeper.
