I am not able to post in normal forums. Reason given is that I need to have a paid subscription. I actually have 2 active auto-renew accounts. I know this may be the wrong place for this. However, it’s the only place I am able to post a forum question.
You can post in the WoW Support section without a Sub as long as you have a level 10 character to post with.
What you describe though is the forum software not picking up that your account is actively subbed. This is because there can be a delay between the account updating and the data getting pushed to the forum software. Sometimes logging totally out of the forums and back in can help force that. Other times just posting on the CS forum will kick the forums into gear. This is most common around the time the sub renews.
