A full list of my complaints can be found on my social media, but the current problem is as follows.
Earlier today (after the significant update at 7 pdt on October 7th) I was no longer able to log in on my PS5. Thinking it was an issue specific to the PS5, I redownloaded Battlenet and tried to connect via PC. Im not really surprised that didn’t work either, but what is surprising is that the error message was even LESS clear, giving me an “Unexpected Server Error Occurred” message.
Now, I shouldn’t be complaining about a free to play game, but at this point the bait-and-switch is getting rediculous. If you’re having this much trouble running the server just take a week of down time to actually debug the application.
Since it looks like this isn’t a widespread problem my first guess would be that the most recent update excluded my connection type in some way (currently running on 400 mbps 5G network). I’ve seen other devs struggle with this connection type, so I could definitely see it being a hurdle, but please for the love of god, get your act together.
Overwatch 1 got me through some of the roughest times in my life, and I could really use that again right now. Please, I’m begging you, just make this game playable on some level. I don’t care if it’s buggy as hell, just give me something.
I am having the same issue. All day yesterday i was able to log in. Today i can’t. What makes it worse is i cant log in on any platform. Ps5 Pc or switch all blocked with the LC 208 error. Pc gives me unexpected error.
Sadly i paid for the watchpoint pack back in june and havent gotten that either when i was able to log in. This is all just a crap show. Really frustrating.
I dont have any issues playing Gundam Evolution though. Guess i am going back to that.
Hi there, you sound like you could help! Please point me in the right direction to help you find a solution. I realize this is a broad complaint, as it affects the PC application and the PS5 application (and from the comments potentially EVERY deployment of Overwatch 2). I would love to get this solved asap so I can get back to playing, if you have any suggestions as to the most effective place to post this let me know and I will repost!
Also, if you could please be more specific than “Overwatch Forums” it would be appreciated. I’m not looking to vent my complaints to a community, I just want this to get patched asap.
Im also experiencing this issue, once again a blizzard launch thats lack luster. My son and i played overwatch 1 together as our primary game, and now we cant play ow2 at all. Its extremely frustrating as we have to plan out our game time to just be further disappointed.
I’m having the same issue but on top of that my account is no longer showing my forum activity as if I never posted or commented or even liked a post.
The game keeps asking me to login when I’m already logged into the blizzard launcher but alas “unexpected server issue”

So you should be posting on the Overwatch forums… not here.
@Canivas asked for a bit more details than “Overwatch forums”… so, I would say… it goes like this: If the problem can be troubleshooted and fixed by you (with help from the Community and/or Blizzard Customer Support), then it goes into Technical Support. If the issue will need a “code fix” (or a patch, or an update), then it goes into Bug Report. In this particular case, several of you have tried a lot of things to fix this error. Heck, even Blizzard has been working on and rolling out fixes. That tells me that it should be posting in the Bug Report forum.
You can either find a topic that’s already active (such as the one I linked above)… or start a new one. In the pinned “Bug Report Forum Guidelines”, Blizzard says:
When providing information on a bug report, it is okay to post on an existing thread if your issue is exactly the same as the original post. If you are experiencing a similar issue with slight variations, please create your own topic.
I hope this is solved quickly so that you can enjoy the game soon.
