Unexpected server error occurred

Was playing all day yesterday after all the queuing stuff had been fixed (or so i had thought) only to find out that today I haven’t even been able to get into a queue or log in because I just get an “unexpected server error occurred” message come up and it prompts me to log in again. I tried logging in again and restarting client, game, and pc, nothing works.

Worst part was I logged into my buddies account and when I launched the game, IT LOGGED IN PERFECTLY! So im not sure why it works for some accounts and not for others?

Have you played Overwatch 2 on any other consoles? / Have your account linked?

No, just pc, my PS4 account was merged but that happened already and was fine when I played yesterday. Just today it’s being fussy

Does your friend have a console account linked to his account?
I’m thinking it has something to do with that. I’m having the exact same issue.
My xbox account is linked. Worked perfectly fine yesterday before maintenance but now I can’t play on either pc or xbox.
I’ve noticed that the people that CAN play don’t have any other systems linked.

oooh maybe you’re onto something, he hasn’t got anything linked just ps4 account for him which I guess got converted to a battle.net account

Yeah and to further my theory I used another phone number, created a new account and logged in perfectly fine. So I can pretty much confidently say that this has something to do with multiple systems being linked to the same account.
BUT I don’t know if blizzard is aware of my findings or how to tag an admin/mod.

Rip to us I guess. Gonna have to wait and see if they can fix it soon… maybe if this thread gets enough traction they’ll be notified of the theory

Yeah I’d say start another thread if we get both of them up near the top it’ll increase the chances that they see it
