I’m well aware of all the strange ways that D2 Bnet will ban you “accidentally”. I’ve unbound the scroll wheel from skills. I never create or join games too fast. Etc. I can’t seem to play from my home internet connection however. The IP is 24.47.199.245. I can connect fine using my phone’s hotspot but when I’m on my home network Bnet doesn’t respond. It used to work fine here which is why I figured a temporary ban, but it’s been more than a week now so that seems like a long time.
I have the same problem. I talked to Blizz Support. Told me I have a two week restriction…
Stop breaking the rules and you won’t get temp ban
Howdy!
It appears you attempted to connect via a cloud-based Internet Service Provider this is most commonly either a VPN or Business class ISP(From work/School/public place)
Our temporary restrictions can be found Here. Try again in a few days.
I find it odd that someone says don’t break the rules and you won’t get banned even though they are not rules and you shouldn’t have to wade through online forums to find out that multiple innocuous things can get you banned for undetermined amounts of time and there is virtually no way to know if you are banned and for how long as I have tried multiple times to create a support ticket and the system doesn’t work.
This is tedious and completely inappropriate on Blizzard’s part. These steps to prevent bott’ing and hacking DO NOT work in the slightest. The only people suffering are regular players who just want to enjoy the game.
I’m assuming I have also been banned, for muling, and I didn’t even know that was an issue until I couldn’t log in and had to google my problem. The most awful part is that my wife plays with me and now she cannot log in either.
This is absolutely ridiculous.
I just got off the phone with blizzard support after 5 days of fighting this issue, attempting to install the game from the blizzard site to immediately not being able to log in. The reasoning blizzard provided was that there was activity on my IP address associated with China… basically they said we have no idea and we can’t figure it out so we are going to give you the most generic bull crap response we can draw up.
Multiple friends who just purchased the game and have never even attempted to play are also IP banned they must’ve been in cahoots with China as well. I’m baffled by the customer service and they all need fired!!
There have been seriouos rumours that China is planning to take over the world… Apparently this is only the beginning…
No kidding… With that kind of service, you can keep the customers in the dark as long as you want… There has been a mistake somewhere and apparently it’s extremely difficult or costly to repair it… meanwhile… keep on fooling your loyal customers…
