How is the battle net app still useless at updates in 2024?

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong here - I’ve tried disabling all background processes, restarting computer etc. but as far as I can remember the battle net app has always been an infuriating process whenever there is an update.

100mb update for wow this morning - I’ve been trying to get it done for an hour now. It will start off strong and the download speed will be up to 6-7mb/s for 2-3 seconds and then it will drop to 5-10kb/s and I have to restart the app to get the high speeds for a few seconds before repeating. Wtf is going on here, this has always been a problem with the battle net app for me with every game.
